2012 Kilo TT Pro

Thread title is wrong, it is a 2021!

I'm going to look at a 2021 Kilo TT Pro in the AM, 55cm frame, looks like an ok bike, the price is right, not much use on it, the seller seems to want a change.

How are these bikes? Any input appreciated. I really don't need another bike but I think maybe I do so...

It's a decent bike, some cheap components like headset, cog, pedals, saddle, tires, but overall ok quality. Frame is good quality, made in Taiwan with Reynolds 520 tubing, good welds and paint, decent wheels with sealed cartridge bearing hubs, good Sugino RD2 cranks. It does have some unusual dimensions, 26.8mm seatpost, 1" steerer tube, which can make changing some components difficult. Just be aware that you won't be able to fit fat tires on this bike, particularly in the front. I own the Kilo WT wide tire version of this bike, and like it a lot. These are just about the best bang for the buck bikes you can buy.

My wife has a kilo. She likes it pretty good, although I put hers together out of stuff I cherry-picked out of my once prodigious parts bin. So it actually has got some decent stuff on there.
The stock components are probably gonna be kinda crummy, as mentioned above. Although the pro will have slightly better stuff over its less/non pro siblings.
If you can get it at a good price, I’d say go for it.

They're cool bikes for the price, and I would assume it's hard to get a new one online at the moment.

Despite the great condition and great price I passed on the deal. The frame was just too big when I looked at the sizing chart on their website. They called this a 55 but it measures more like a 58. 55 is my size, I usually end up with a 56 and get a short stem and can live with it but any bigger I'm not interested in.

Thats ok, I found another frame to spend some money on, let you know in a couple of days

No biggie, bykemike. You’ll find something good if you keep searching.
It’s actually looking like an okay market for used bike stuff right now, at least over by me, anyway.
I’m finding some pretty interesting stuff lately.

That's a shame, but I'm not surprised. I've heard of people in the 5'11" range actually riding the 53cm models. That's just the way it goes apparently. Hopefully another good frame will come up soon! Good luck.

Found a used Wabi Lightning frameset in your size for 550 bucks but it’s local to me.
And it looks like you’ve found your frame already. But if interested, lemme know and I will pass you the info. Maybe the seller will ship.
