What is the difference between a fender and a mudguard?

How do Americans and others use these words?

Fenders usually offer full coverage and bolt to the frame and fork...Mud guards clip on to a seat post or clip on to a fork and don't offer full coverage like fenders do.

I think some people here in the USA use the terms interchangeably and others prefer to think of them as in the first reply you got.

I wouldn't care what you referred to it as. Just don't send me out for bread and get upset because I didn't return with dinner rolls. <grin>

one is a musical instrument & the other aids in the prevention of unwanted organic & foreign debris from becoming a hazard.

Don't do that.

There is no need to ruin the joke by explaining it. Seriously. People are able to click and search on their own, if they want. Are you one of these people that have to put cairns every few feet on a trail? You think you being helpful but you ain't. It's not helpful and is instead, patronizing,

LET OTHER PEOPLE FIGURE IT OUT ON THEIR OWN< thank you very little.

Do not explain other people's posts. Seriously, do not do it. Stop it.

Your avatar looks familiar. Are you formerly of Lazy Horse Matress and Bedding?
