What is my Bianchi from the 90's worth?
Hello everyone!
I got a Bianchi Reparto Corse Martini Racing from a friend but it is too small for me. I've tried to google it but I can't really find any similar model online. Does anyone know from what year it is (I think it is from the 90's) and how much it could be worth approximately? Could it be custom made? I appreciate all thoughts!

This one is a little more difficult to nail a price to, this type of bike sells pretty good between $350-$500 on Craigslist. Add the Bianchi with celeste tax which is about $150 or so.

It certainly depends on the local market. That is a beautiful, unusual, historic bike. Here in the SF Bay Area your phone would be ringing off the hook at $1,000.

I have nothing to provide to the valuation, but wanted to say this bike is stunning. To a vintage mtb enthusiast I’m sure this would be a treat.
As others have asked, what part of the country/world are you in?

Thank for all the replies! I'm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Seems like Bianchi have produced lots of different reparto corse models. Showed it to a friend today that thought it is from the 90´s.

Interesting bike. Does the suspension work? Are spares available for it?
Looking at my US market catalogs Bianchi and Martini seem to have been associated from around '97 to '99 (I sadly do not have 2000 catalog) but there is nothing that looks like this bike.
Is the whole bike STX and Acrea? I wonder if all the good stuff was stripped off at some point.

Thanks so much! The suspension works. Interesting with your catalogue and that Martini was around 97-99. I should then try to find the 2000 catalogue to see if it appears there. I'm not sure about if the whole bike is STX and Acrea.

I found this Retrobike thread from 2010 after searching for "Bianchi FX40." (the text on the seat stay) https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/...atalog.128299/
Further down in the thread it mentions that this might be a 1998 NTH FX40 Reparto Corse. Interesting that this bike has the same large frame size (and it's too small for you?), same incongruent low-end '98 Rock Shox Indy S, green tires, flat pedals, seatpost, cranks, etc, with the biggest difference being the Magura hydraulic brakes.
Not much else comes up for pictures except for one with high end parts that I'd expect to see on this nice frame: a long travel Marzocchi Bomber, Shimano XT, etc. The post also says this is a 1998 bike.
Maybe these were sold as frame-only?

The Acera STX is original and would place it as 97/98 bike which makes it the one of first to have rear suspension and last of the Bianchi MTB's. I know myself and most here are not fans of vintage supension bikes but this one is about as good as it gets for this style bike, $1000 price seem really optimistic and $150 too low II would place it at $400 or so.

I see a couple of tasty bits, and a lot of lower end parts. I would love to see any record of one selling for $1,800 to $2,200. I certainly have never seen it. Asking price? Sure. Sold for price?

Cross over appeal to the Porsche folks, might be higher value to them!

Is Martini Racing a local racing team? I only ask because, at one point, I had a Cinelli quil stem (1R, 1X, something, can't remember) run through my hands that had the Italian tricolors and Martini pantographed on it. I could never figure how who the Martini was that it was associated with. I think I might still have that stem somewhere in one of my parts bins.

$500. Parts are not race quality, but early full suspension bikes (late 90's?) are fun for collectors. All you can really do with it is look at it. Celeste paint with Martini decoration is a plus.

I missed this the first time around. It has the 1996 MTB World Championship decal, so it's no older than the 1997 model year. If we assume that the component mix is OEM (as it matches the bicycle referenced by Daniel_NC), then it can be narrowed down further. STX was discontinued at the end of 1999, leaving 1997-1999. The serial number may provide a further clue.
The rear derailleur is the 2nd version of Alivio (not Acera), which was introduced for the 1997 model year. Neither Alivio or STX had V-brakes in 1997 but they do not appear to be Shimano units. What's curious about this is that Alivio was below STX in the Shimano hierarchy. If the rear derailleur does not match the other components, it is typically a higher model, not lower.
It's a decent dual suspension frameset for the era but there are a lot of upper entry level components. Given the era and component mix, the MSRP would have been around $1,000.00 US.

With the exception of the rear suspension I have Schwinn MESA GSX that I got out of dumpster probably better frame with same fork and wheels good, That I rebuilt for less than $100u with a better crank and DR's for the clunker $100 covid challenge. Bike. That many here and my self would likely consider a better bike that is only gets values of $300-400 at best
