Salsa Stormchaser tire options

Anybody with a Stormchaser or has seen one in person might know if I could fit a Schwalbe knobby 27.5x2.25 in that frame? Specs set max tire clearance at 50mm but Salsa is stingy with their clearances. I'd like to know just how stingy they are.

I was able to get a WTB Ranger in 27.5x2.8 to fit in the front. Clearance was tighter in the rear but I think 2.25 would fit fine.

2.8?! Crazy. I was pretty dead set on getting the bike regardless of the clearance and currently have 27.5x2.25 tires on there right now. But itís good to know that bike can essentially be a rigid mountain bike.
