Yes, considered an entry level bike, but a good bike for the price point. I can't speak specifically to the Matador, but it got some decent reviews at mtbr. I love my Ponderosa 29er though. What year is the bike being sold? Depending on the year, you might be able to negotiate a better price.

Paid about the same for my Marin Muirwoods. Already have a 29er, so I'm not in the market in for one.

"what kind of bottom bracket does my bike have"

Hi guys, I am new to forum, and don't know exactly how to use it, but... I've got my Novara Matador many years ago from REI, and like it a lot.. Lately, came to my attention new project: CONVERTING IT TO ELECTRIC BIKE! Would anybody know what I've asked in topic? Also does it have JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) on it??? if not, then what kind ?? many thx!
