Campy 10S vs. 12S

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hi
I skipped 11s
I was running 10s till 2019(i have a lot of spare parts)
So the comparison is between 10s and 12s.
Always problems and difficult to find spare parts.
First the crankset bolts are often untied.
And now problems with rear mech(i have upload a post about that)
So yes, resurrection of 10s. If you dont need so small gears

Centaur to me always seemed a bit closer to Tiagra/Claris (quality wise) than to the 105, which is what Campy sold it as.

They shoulda never got rid of Athena.

Yes, I'm still annoyed.

How's Campy 12 spd cassette compatibility like if you use a SRAM, Shimano or even a Sunshine 12spd cassette? It would be nice to know you could use a Shimano or xdr freehub as a backup.

Don't go throwing shade on the OP's idea!

Ended up going full NOS Super Record 11 speed. I prefer the look to the 12s. Getting the NOS components was relatively easy sans the calipers and the front derailleur. I put a set of Fulcrum Racing Zero wheels on it, and it is about as light as a steel bike will get.

The shifting is ho-hum on the stand, but nice and crisp when underway in actual conditions. I was worried for a minute!

The frameset took 14 months (to the day) to get, but that is no big deal.

The ride quality is very unique in that it has the classic steel feel, but is super crisp and tight. It is not twitchy, but you are not going to fall asleep on this bike

All reports that I've read suggest that the 12 speed cassettes of the big three are quite compatible. Shimano has the widest chain and sram axs the narrowest. I used a Campy 11-34 cassette briefly with my axs drivetrain, but didn't spend enough time on it to give it a fair evaluation. My sram 10-36 12 speed cassette worked great with Campy 12.
