Sounds like fun! Either ridding the Bike or Shooting.... Bravo!
Ya ride where you can... But ridding Down Range is probably not a good idea any time of the year...

lol but sometimes you don't know until you know ... I remember auto off-roading w/ Wifey until I reached a ledge w/ a deer skull. I thought Cool! then I saw a sign that said "down-range, stay away" or something like that I was like oh-dang! we turned around & left the area. on a MTB sometimes a whole forest is down range ...

When I lived in MA, it was illegal to hunt on Sunday. Don't know if that has been changed. However, during deer season, there was no way I would walk or ride through the woods on any legal hunting day. Lots of hunters, little legal land to hunt on, and too many guys that aren't all that concerned with actually seeing what they are aiming at.
If you're going to ride anyway, I would at least wear a bright orange outfit.

Pennsylvania changed so now there are 3 legal sunday hunting days. Just during deer season. Some times I'm a little concerned I live too close to the forest during deer season, I don't even like to road ride then. Hunting apparently is mostly drinking and driving into town for more beer.
