If you believe what they say the majority of the auto manufactures are planning to phase out gas engines and go all electric within a few years. Bicycles might be a good offshoot of that.

I'll believe it when I see it.

You did notice they are paired spokes correct? Rolf has been using paired spokes since 1997 and Crank Brothers has been doing it a while as well (they started making wheels in 2005 but cannot remember if they had paired spokes back then)
Here is some info from Rolf a few years ago:
https://bikerumor.com/2017/11/10/aas...-spoke-wheels/

I know some Clydes who did mountain bike racing on Rolf Prima wheels and no wheel issues.

If I was going to buy an off the shelf ebike, I'd buy one from a bicycle manufacturer not an auto company.
Maybe they are thinking of some kind of combined deal, buy our electric car and we'll throw in an ebike.

I just don't see the point, but some marketing genius thinks it is brilliant.

I would buy and ebike from a E-Bike only dealer or a Powersports dealer. All bicycle manufacturers have the incentive to maintain their bicycle lines, not necessarily ebikes. With powersports, it's the same, but I would go with Yamaha since they've been building ebikes since 1993. The hybrids are electric mopeds. The question is do you want to pedal more or use the motor more.
