Favorite lightweight 10-speed chain
My current chain is in decent shape and within specs, but it has stretched a bit. Figure might as well go ahead and replace it. I'm a bit of a weight weenie so I'd like to get something light weight. I have a SRAM 10 speed. Looking at the SRAM PC-1091. What other chains should I consider?

I'd be okay with SRAM too or any of the other popular names that sell chains for bikes. The bigger question might be silver or black?

Light chain? Ok, if that makes a difference to you just look for anyone's hollow pin chain.

The weights for various chains should be on the manufacturer websites. IMO you can't go wrong, KMC,Shimano and SRAM are all OK. Just look for the lightest and see if you can find it in stock.

I just use Dura-ace 11 speed on 10 speed drivetrains and it works brilliantly. Might not be the lightest, but is light and more efficient than superlight chains.

I know it won't make a difference, but I'm on an eternal quest to see how light I can get my bike without spending a ton of money. Got it pretty close to 16lbs right now. 15.5 is my goal. Saving 100g on a chain is almost a quarter pound. It's just a personal thing. Basic chains are around $20. Expensive, light weight chains are around $60ish. Seems like a reasonable expenditure in pursuit of my goal.

Ordered the KMC X10EL (Extra Light). Says 260grams. Saw some cheaper ones that were around 350grams.

You could have saved 8 grams with the hollow pin SL (Super Light.)

Back before the pandemic started these FSA chains were about twenty bucks. I bought a few and have been riding them. They are lasting as long as my kmc and sram chains. I'd buy them again.

Sifn't Dura-Ace 11s. Not sure about the weight, but the separate bushings provide more wear area than 10s, dunno why anyone replaces a 10s chain with another 10s chain.
