Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Scheduled to work. I'll get time and a half if there's a closure due to landfall anytime between tomorrow and Tuesday.

Our WiFi , cable tv, and internet and even cell phones have been wonky all afternoon They work for a minute or two and then crap out. Kind of an unusual thing for us. I just lost a call a couple minutes ago and can’t reconnect.

They're jamming comms, trying to keep people from organizing.

Really need to see about doing a mid-week cycling activity in GSMNP this summer.

Smokies to hold vehicle-free Wednesdays in Cades Cove this summer

I know in Richmond there has been a cessna circling the city non stop since Friday. I imagine it’s either collecting cell phone data, or mapping peoples movement. Possibilities are endless.

In the picture it’s heading to Richmond to fuel up again. With 53 gallons usable and slow cruise fuel burn it can stay up for 6 hours if not longer.
