Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Bikes I would like to get.

I would like able to good not great bike for between $900 - $1200 (really 650-850 that is unrealistic) to get a Gravel to All Terrain bike. Is this a possibility?

Check out the Poseidon Bikes X and Redwood, but also others have stuff at that price point. Kona Rove has a model in that range too. Lots of awesome used stuff too in that range.

State Bicycle 4130 - $899

Steel frame and fork with State-labeled components - probably weighs about 30 lbs. - fairly upright geometry - eyelets for fenders and racks - 650b or 700c wheels - good all-around bike

Online reviews are available.

Bikes: Co-Motion Cappuccino Tandem,'88 Bob Jackson Touring, Co-Motion Cascadia Touring, Open U.P., Ritchie Titanium Breakaway, Frances Cycles SmallHaul cargo bike. Those are the permanent ones; others wander in and out of the stable occasionally as well.

Giant Revolt Aluminum is in your price range, and it is a great value. Frame is excellent for an aluminum frame and components are the best you can do at that price range. Dealers still have a few around. Just upgrade the tires as soon as you can afford to as that is the one component that is most lacking. The company is also the world's largest manufacturer so has great economies of scale to keep costs low and they rae excellent for warraty work if needed. The dealer network is extensive and if you need a new derailleur hanger you can just ask any dealer. That has been a huge drawback of bikes like the Poseidon if you need parts or warranty work.

Used gravel bikes often sell within hours of listing if they are in good shape and reasonably priced.
