They are Dyna Drive pedals. There are adapters for normal pedals.

Jim was fond of the DA version to make triples out of, the one on the MTB has pedal adapters that he also made.

Ditto, but sold my adapters years ago since I never expected to use them and a guy really needed them. Have DA DD pedals with clips and straps NIB. My Deore pedals are kinda beat.

Well aware of that, thanks.

My "hybrid crank" comment was more directed at (1) the fact that cranks from two different Shimano cranksets were used, and (2) the rather uncommon chainring setup including a non-Shimano (Stronglight) chainring that is attached in an unusual manner (which per the Shimano exploded view might be as designed for that DS crank and large chainring).

I don't know which would be harder to source, the oversize AX pedals or the adapters that allow a normal pedal to be used with those cranks. Both are like hen's teeth these days.

I was lucky enough to score this set from on of my local co-ops garage sale. I'd been looking for a 130bcd crank that was originally spec'd with short spindle as a location for one of my Willow 46t triplizers.

Coulda lead with that. The rest of us aren’t mind readers nor necessarily experts on dead end Shimano systems.

Kinda thought that the "Dura Ace" marking on one crank arm and "Deore" on the other would be enough to make the intent rather clear - along with the close-up pic showing the chainring marked "Stronglight".
