Old Peugeot

Couldn't find a serial number. Should have taken better pictures, but was out riding. It's wired for lights, etc. The rear derailleur is a Peugeot.

Seems like a slick set up. Not sure if old = classic in this case, but would be an interesting bike to ride around on.

$300 is a bit of a toss up, because it looks to be in good shape. I’d be happy if I got it for $150, because of the steel wheels, cottered crank, plastic front derailleur, and Carbolite frame. Pretty bike. Would it fit you? That is question #1.

$300 is more than this bike is worth. I'm a fan of old Peugeots and the UE series came stock with quality fenders, rack, lighting system, and a kickstand. That said the bike has steel rims and a cottered crank. Plus that front derailleur is a toss up. They are made of plastic which Simplex marketed as delrin and they tend not to survive.

I like this bike a lot and I'd pass on it at $150. I'd think about it at $100 but I have the expertise and the parts to rebuild this bike.

I really don't have room for another bike. Hard to fit 7 in the garage now, and that's with 3 hanging up. It just looked pretty cool. Reminds me of the 70s when a guy wired his bike for light, including turn signals.

Many of us are in that situation. Some of us stop accumulating, others thin the herd periodically, others don't care and just keep going.

Looking through the Bianchi at the 1959 Capo, the Schwinn, and an old MTB frame. The Capo Siegers are behind me.

Others just buy a bigger house with a larger garage, 😉. Priorities, right?

Nice bike, but $300 seems optimistic.

$300? Perhaps if it is in as good a condition as it appears to be. If, however, it needs tires, or cables or brake pads or handlebar tape, then $300 is too much. That said, it is a really cool vintage road bike and, let's face it, gems, even entry level ones, do not come along too often. And that old Peugeot looks to be gem quality and in truly original condition.

If it were in my area, I would consider it and offer as much as $200.00. If I were selling it, I would not take less than $400.00. But that is just me.

If you were selling it it would probably be worth 400. Or more?
