Trek Mogul Black Diamond shock fork

I Just got a 1994 Trek 7000 green with what appears to be a Trek Mogul Black Diamond shock fork (decals gone) that moves but has no compression or rebound. The catalog says the 7000SHX (black) came with the shock. The 7000 (green) came with a rigid steel fork so this would have been added later on. Anyone ever have one of these apart? Before I take the time is there any hope of reviving it? The catalog says it's an air/oil fork. Who made it? Was there a manufacturers equivalent or was this made just for Trek? It has adjustment knobs on the top of each side that click a few times from setting to setting. I don't see any valves for adding air.

Very long shot. anyone have a 1994 7000 steel fork in emerald green? 18" frame.

I think they were made by Showa, if I'm remembering correctly. Probably be a miracle to find parts at this point, even if you had a good idea about how to service it.

Thanks. Now I have something to search for.... Showa main biz is motorcycle forks. Not much on the Trek forks. Guess I'll take it apart and see what is inside. Maybe it just needs cleaning & lube.

In my opinion that's a complete waste of time.

As long as you are happy riding a fork that is more flexible and won't be easily kept up with then by all means spend your time trying to find service parts for this fork. Do know that many fork companies business plans have a fork "hold" a 3 year market life. If this fork was a cat and was 27 years old it's about dead, 3 years to each life Andy

They were great quality, but just lacked proper support from Trek and Showa. They share parts with the Tioga forks Tomac road and also sold under another brand name that I forget at the moment
