I had a 1973-ish Paramount track bike, white with red decals. Steel Cinelli handlebar and stem.
I sold it, damn it all.

So now I have two which fit me well and I ride both regularly. A 1971 and a 1983. The middle of one era and the beginning of the next.
Both are built for riding which suits my style and the local terrain.

It seems like 1972 was a big year for Paramount's. This is my '72(serial # F72285) P15-9 that came to me far from period correct. Original parts are Campagnolo Record hubs and seat post, Cinelli stem, Weinmann brake levers and center pulls.
I bought it from the original owner, a 91 year old gentleman from California. He bought it when he was 50 years old, the same age as when I got it from him.

And you have a rainbow decal Paramount. Wow. Enjoy. I am with you as my mid-life could have been a Porsche 928S but a sub 1K bike is much better craziness...and I still have a wife. Although n+1 my end that.
I guess I was too poor to know about Paramounts as a child and teenager. Didn't learn about them until hanging out here and on the defunct Schwinn forum in 2005. So I was a middle aged male needing one. I suppose my mid-life crisis was rather inexpensive (compared to wanting a sports car)!

Literally, until about 4-5 years ago, a Paramount was a theatre, and paramount was an adjective for me.

Actually, both mine together were originally just over 1K--- but I've invested another 1/2K in them.

Coo Coo for Paramounts
This one on it's way as we speak original Campus Green 78' P-13. My First Paramount, a 1972 Chrome P-15 that is too small (anyone want to swap a pristine chrome 23"+ frame for a 21.5"?) A local find a 78' Cranberry P-15 that gets wax and Bartape only. A 71' P-10 that gets restored to look like Michael Angelo's incredible Flamboyant Red P-13 and a 78' Pearlescent Orange P-10 that gets some updated Electra wheels but otherwise returned to stock (campy) with Barend shifters.

Had two, first one was stolen, had my name on paper in the handlebars, a friend found it and I was able to prove it to him(love integrity, wherever), the thief was the son of my auto insurance agent, it was a '72, stripped, Syracuse area, sold the frame to a track rider, he was happy.
Second one was a criterium(no space between either wheel and frame, down tube was an "S" much closer rear wheel location) frame, 23". Not a campy fan, changed the wheels (bulls eye hubs) and bb (woods), many happy years, ride alone, ride for the hills

I think that at one time or another I've posted these bikes before......
Chrome P15, maybe a 1973, IIRC...........full Campy with the exception of the Crane rear derailleur.
70 something red with everything stock, including the Campy group and tubular rims (PIA).

From the serial number, this appears to be an '84, with a Suntour Superbe group on it.
It is much less stable at low speeds than the 70's bikes I have.

This Waterford paramount, and another PDG paramount that appears to have come from Japan,
are both still under reconstruction. It is unlikely many of these parts are original to the bike.

It is a never ending adding to amplify the beauty of the Paramount. I figured I would post mine. I was so fed up today with the weather in Wisconsin (snowing as I type) that I totally cleaned, polished and adjusted my 78 P-15. Plus I needed an excuse to take a picture of the New Acorn bag

I have an original '72 in chrome with triple crank and about a 75 track, refinished with earlier graphics and wood rims. Both posted before.
