Got there really early, and walked around the 10th St fair with my wife and kids. We really took it all in and got a ton of swag for free.
My son has redecorated his room with all the nice cycling posters we got.

I got to meet Jim Felt, which was super cool since I ride a Felt. He is very nice and his face lit up when I told him I have 15,000 miles on my Felt F-75, including 200 from the Davis Double the day before. He seemed genuinely thrilled to hear that one of his bikes was well loved and well used.

We got a great spot right on the crowd control fence at 11th and L, at the 100m mark. We saw Cavendish start his final assault right in front of us. Awesome.
The crash was bad for the cyclists but good for us fans. My kids really got to see, Boonen, Hincappie, Cancellara, Hausler and others go by at a post crash cruising pace so they could tell who was who.

After the race my kids even got some autographs from some Team Cervelo riders.

A perfect day.

Wasn't that awesome? I was wandering around near the Felt tent and there were a handful of folks around the TT bike and a guy explaining some of the development of the frame, UCI restrictions, what's available to the Garmin team, and what's available to the public. Seemed really interesting and then I realized it wasn't just some guy from Felt, it was Jim Felt himself.

See you at the top. Not sure if I'll get to the start of the climb by 8:30, but will try.

Ok, I couldn't resist ... I made the drive down to LA to view the Time Trial. It was great! I found out LA has a pretty nice light rail system, as long as your destination is somewhere close to downtown. It was a fun day.

We did see a moto crash into the center barrier, but luckily it didn't cause anyone to lose any time, and the rider that came after the moto was able to avert the barrier. They got the barrier back together just in time before the next rider came along. This was before the top GC contenders came through. Wasn't caught on camera, so they were lucky it wasn't on Versus.

Took too many pics, but here are a select few:

Steven Cozza

Fabian Cancellara

Paul Mach

Levi Leipheimer

Dave Zabriskie

Michael Rogers

Peter Sagan

Levi signing autographs

Scott ... bike porn

I wished I would have known you were there. At the last minute I was asked to work the finishline security, would like to have seen you.

I was about 200m from Flower St. We actually didn't know where we were going to sit .. it was a last minute decision, based on what was available by the time we finished going through the booths. Too bad we couldn't hook up. Would have been nice to hook up.

Spingineer: The one rider you didn't label in the Bissel jersey is Paul Mach.

Thanks, I'll make a note of that. It's hard having all these pics, and you can't pick out who is who.

Could it be Rob Britton?
