Anything but matt black. *yawn*

White with purple would be fine, but white with orange would be my preference. (since you asked) Color preference is a personal thing... do you! (and post pics!)

Thanks trick. Yeah I agree colour is personal preference, but I'm kinda stuck for inspiration, hence the question. I do like orange. In fact love it in the right scheme. But white and orange, hhhhmmmm lol

Ten mins on Google and I can officially say that orange and white doesn't look too bad given the correct layout. So it's definitely a possibility, however. I've no idea what a creamsicle is, I'm English. Lol

I could not remember the name but that's what I thought, too. This one is not as dramatic with the mix of orange and white. It was the best I could quickly come up.

Oldshovel has a bunch of restoration videos on YouTube, and he often gives the old bikes a new paint job. Retro inspired for sure, bright colours and fades, but I think they look great if that's your thing. Sorry I can't post links yet, but searching for "Oldshovel bike" on YouTube should get you there.

If I'm going to paint a bike, I try to stick with a theme. So I would think what color pedals, color of grips, color of brake and shifter cables, even down to the stem, crank arms, bottle cages. I don't want to paint the frame and cant match or coordinate the accent pieces. But that's me. Do you and what you think looks good.

This is an orange and white fade I had on a custom road bike built 4 years ago.

Oh you're missing out. Think orange popsicle with vanilla ice cream, mixed together. Quite tasty.

That depends on if you just go with “black” everything. But if you use the proper colors, it can pop.

Same with white.

Sometimes you can even match Coast Guard colors.

Or silver

Or titanium grey.

I've enjoyed working with colors on my model rockets, and orange on white was always a favorite. My plan is to refinish my Nashbar road bike in gloss white, with orange and black graphics similar to my Archer below. All graphics, stripes and lettering here were my design. Yes they are working models and both have been launched.

With “regular” components the green was really ugly. The purple really works.

There's some Really cool scheme here, so thank you all for suggesting. But I think I've found the one. It's not one I'd normally pick but given the right graphics and design It makes me smile so that has to be a winner. Im loving the white/orange with black painted graphics. Maybe a decal on the top bar in black saying "I can do that....". Then one on the down tube saying" yeah...... No! "
