I don't use flash or pulse. Too distracting. You probably have yours aimed too low. You want it just high enough to avoid drivers flashing their high beams at you. That is how I set mine. Put it up high enough to bother the drivers then drop it down until it doesn't. Make a note of where the beam begins and use that as the set point.
I've never had to use a flashy on the front either. My Niterider does just fine because of it being so bright, but I mount it on the top of my bars. I point it enough at the road that I can see ahead of me (not where I'm at currently), but also so when I'm approaching road signs they light up (reflection). If the road signs are reflecting back, then drivers can see your light.
Must have been something in the air last night. I was going up a small climb on a narrow back road just a half mile from home last night. Obviously it was a "blind" area. Car comes up behind and some a$$hat on a Harley blows by the car that is trying to pass me (did I mention it was a blind area). A car appears at the top of the hill. A$$hat Harley rider just about gets taken out. Horns are honking brakes screeching. Luckily it was all just past me (by feet). It's a sure bet who would have been taken out in that whole cluster**** had things gone just a little bit more sideways.
You'd think the a$$hat on the Harley would effing know better.
Due to my lack of fitness I couldn't get up the hill fast enough to catch any of these jerks and kick their asses

I no longer use Facebook and owing to that have kind of lost touch with some people. While messing around last night on velonews I saw that a buddy of mine that asked me to drop by and train with him for a bit is racing Paris-Roubaix on Sunday. Super pumped for him. What an experience that would be.

I'm sure your buddy will have some great stories to tell, hope you get to catch up with him when he gets back!

Just for any of you all who might not be taking this seriously. Tonight, Meg will be playing the part of a hacker. Make sure you're at the very least not using the same password everywhere, and use 2-step verification where possible.

Boring race coming up this weekend!
I'm a big guy so I like flatter courses. This weekend's race, which is only the second race of the season here in CO, is pancake flat. It's a 100' RR - 3 laps around a 13 mile rectangular loop of country roads. My 45/4's field will be large, with 60 or more riders, and the course is on a 2-lane highway with no shoulders and a strongly enforced yellow-line rule. Which means that moving around in the pack will be difficult for as long as the pack stays together, which will likely be the whole race.
Last year the pack stayed together until the final sprint. Comments were, "the easiest race ever".
I'd be happy to work in a break, but these rarely work in our field. I've tried to initiate before, but I've yet to learn how to get any accomplices.
At least I can sprint.

Are you talking about Weld? That's next weekend.
I'm pre-riding the boring course tomorrow. I haven't done it before.

He's doing a complete European campaign this year but I should shoot him a message regardless. I think he did E3 and Schep...... However the hell you spell it.

Weird and sad. One of my relatives died (I didn't know him) and he left a huge sum of money in a bank in Lome-Togo. So I'm forwarding the necessary info to the barrister to get it properly transferred and distributed to my family.

I need a nap, came in to work at 6:30 to meet a client at 7am. The freaking salesperson kept telling me that the guy likes to show up early and asked me if I could show up early. So I agreed for a 7 am meeting. I show up at 6:30 to print a bunch of things and the freaking guy is already here...Then one of our production guys is telling me the guy is here and wants to meet.
Do people not understand that showing up early to a meeting is almost as bad as showing up late? Ugh.

Depending on the kind of client, he can pretty much do what he wants and make it look like you were in the wrong. If he decided to walk because you were 'late' i.e. on time, I wonder who they'd get pissed at.
