Oh how I wish I had a more reliable source of watching this than cycling.tv.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm more than slightly excited about this.

Several alternative feeds have been discussed on Twitter. Use #procycling as a sort tag. https://www.steephill.tv is one that may carry it. I haven't tried these but several Euro feeds have been listed, too.
Sincerely,
Bill

You think he's entering it to win, or you think he's entering to get some miles in? The first 270k, as pointed out, resembles a fast group ride. It's the end where the real riders come out to play, and when I say "end", I mean the Poggio. My most optimistic scenario has him leading the charge up the Poggio for a teammate, then lettings things sort themselves out.
Also I haven't done any research ("due diligence" in fancy speak) but does any of the Giro route go over MSR stuff? This would be a good way to recon things. And since Lance would probably want to go check out some of the Giro climbs anyway, this would be a way to schedule in a trip there and let someone pick up the tab (aka "appearance fee").

Pre-cancer, Lance raced to win. I remember Sean Yates going 60kph to get LA onto the Cipressa first.
Post-cancer, Lance uses MSR for 7 hours of nervous pack riding and 1 hour of motorpacing at the end.
It's not about the miles per se, it's about those miles at speed in an amped peloton.

Next to Paris-Roubaix, Milan San Remo is one of the classic's riders want to win. yes it might be boring for the first few hours but the end is where it is at. Its so much a craps shoot as well on who's going to win

Peloton Shelter Dog
Is that the race with that nasty little climb and then that crazy 7-8 mile hairy descent into the finish at the end of like 150 miles of hammering?

Peloton Shelter Dog
The end of that race was really amazing. They were descending on wet roads last year and there was one really nasty crash.
