Getting ready to ride from SF to Eroica CA this fall

I might be crazy, but I threw in with a bunch of nut jobs on this. All week on the bike. Leaving Monday from Sausalito, and arriving Friday in Cambria. Anyway, We are all riding Eroica worthy bikes. I am outfitting a 1985 Masi "race bike" with bags, and extra water etc. I feel like i may have gone off the rails here a little bit, but I am excited for the adventure and camaraderie.
Please weigh in, crazy, or adventurous... where is that line?

Of course, I just didn't hang it off the back, since the bag is empty, and would sag... this was all about looks today!

I believe three rules for Eroica might be broken on your bike: A) Index shifting. B) Aero brake levers. C) Aero rims.

I just looked it up and it seems that since 2017, they are allowing aero brake levers, but without integrated shifters. Rims are restricted to no more than 20 mm in height. You might get away with the shifters, if they are set on friction. Not sure if the seat is restricted?

Interesting about the rims, I never knew that rule. I went and measured them , and they are exactly 20 mm in depth. You are right about the brake levers, and the indexed shifting though. Truth be told, there are no "meets the rules" police, it is just a big group of people having a nice day in the hills along the central coast. I can turn off the indexing, but chances i won't, because it works freaking awesomely!

No concrete plans as of now... kind of seat of the pants-ing it for now. we live in the central valley, so our home base is 100 miles east of the halfway point between the two. For now, My wife ad I will spend the weekend in Marin County, I will meet the guys on Monday morning for the start of the trip. My wife will then meet us in Cambria for the Eroica weekend, and that is my ride home. She will also deliver my new gravel bike, so I can do the Nova Eroica on Saturday too, if I feel inclined, since I paid for it 18 months ago.
Long story short, I don't need to go back to the start.
