In Search of: Shimano Nexus 3 speed 16" rear wheel,...

As the title states, I'm looking for a PREBUILT Shimano Nexus 3 speed rear wheel to replace the one from my Dahon Curve. ThorUSA said they didn't have access to a replacement wheel, so I need to see if I can locate it myself. I don't currently have a place to get a wheel built, and I'm not interested in doing it myself (as it'll be a complete disaster). Any information, especially a link to purchase the wheel, would be greatly appriciated.

PS: Please don't suggest a Brompton rear wheel,...OR me building the wheel myself. Thanks!!!

I received a callback,...Bfold couldn't help me. I called Green Zone Bikes, hopefully they'll be able to assist me.

The Dahon Curve uses a Sturmey Archer rear hub surely? Not a Shimano Nexus..?

Look it up,...the new rear wheel has the same OLD, and now has a Shimano Nexus IGH. You wouldn't be asking me this if you Googled it.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I’m in a similar boat – my daughter will be on a 16” bike soon and she’s already an ace. I’d be grateful if you have findings to share!

You might call Bike Friday about this as they build custom wheels for all of their products. Roger

I never managed to find a wheel, and my wheel builder retired.
