A hole in my head

The other day I was at this place that sells used tractor implements. Among it all was a faded and rusted but complete Legend Cruiser. The first thing I noticed was the straight downtube and that this bike was a 10 speed. I thought it was unusual for a cruiser so I bought it. I know AMF is a cheap bike brand with some exceptions. Now I've got to decide what to do with it.

I can leave it as is and make it rideable by changing the required parts to do so. I have Varsity parts I could use in the drivetrain.

I could try to bring it back to near original condition with a bunch of work. (a futile endeavor and a waste of time)

Or I could rat rod it. (probably the most fun)

Anyone familiar with these? What do you think?

Pics? Curious to see what you found as AMF legend Cruiser pulls up Harleys and BMX.

I had that trouble too. I'll get one up as soon as I figure out how to do it. I did see a picture of the 3 speed version with chrome fenders and red paint. Mine are painted the frame color which I think was maroon. The drivetrain appear to be typical dept. store junk like on other AMF road bikes.

Now I see why the world is disappointed. I posted a picture of my new rig on one computer and then I went to another computer and it isn't there. Why is that? My new rig is that old faded AMF Legend 10 speed cruiser.

It looks a moderator found something in my album of one picture. These aren't the bikes I wanted to show you. The picture of the AMF Legend 10 speed cruiser is on my phone. I haven't figured out how to get into this forum. Copy and paste doesn't seem to work. Is there a quick tutorial somewhere on how to do this?

Thanks

There was an old Varsity like one I had as a teen just begging for a clean up near me but due to issues there is no way I could ride it or justify it. I had so many Schwinns as a kid and rode them into the ground, so many good memories.

Well, some things are just not predestined. If we were closer I'd make that old Varsity yours.

I rode all my Schwinns into the ground too and they are incredibly hard to find/ or salvage near me now.
