Lee Canyon building a Downhill park?

Saw this on the news. Looks like there may be lift-assist downhill runs coming to Leee Cayon. Anyone heard any details?

Looking forward to hauling my GT STS DH up the trail for a few runs.

assist:

https://www.8newsnow.com/news/local-...ning-expected/

https://lvsportsbiz.com/2022/01/26/d...rails-to-come/

looks cool. only a roadie but if i had a mtb or there were decent rentals available on-site, would def consider it on a las vegas visit.
the spring mtns (esp the northern end by this potential park) are great hiking, highly scenic and definitely uncrowded.

still hafta get out there to do these:

Thanks, ooga-booga. I see you list San Diego as your location.

I grew up riding in north county, 1980's on up. All over Carlsbad, Oceanside, Del Mar, etc.I used to commute from Oceanside to Carlsbad by bike for work.
It's where we vacation and my parents and brother still live there.

A lot of mountain biking there and I miss the year round riding

Lee Canyon opens a new 2.2 Green trail. Honestly, at my age, Green trail is probably more my speed now.

Just for kicks..the Blue and Black trails.

It's closed until further notice

Downhill bike park closed due to flooding on August 21, 2023.
Lee Canyon received at least 8 inches of rain from tropical storm Hilary. The entire Spring Mountain Recreational Area will remain closed until at least August 25. The parking lot shown in one of the pictures above where you park for using the bike park is for the Lee Canyon Ski Resort which was particularly hard hit. Before setting out for the park check with the SMRA website to find out what is open and usable. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/htnf...a/?recid=65168
