I'm thinking the problem, in part, might be the atrocious paint job. I am decidedly not a fan of the Ironman paint design. This one is red/white fade. I am a solid color guy and not a red bike guy.
The fixed cup and headset came off this morning. I'm leaving the pressed in cups. I don't see the Centurion sticky; did Robbie take it with him when he left, or maybe a vengece thing by the forum? Anyway, I'm looking forward to a new bike, without actually having to buy one.

Monochrome works for me:

Came to me as a rather clapped out '87 MV.

This is what I'm talking about with the blue hue. Some of the frame looks dark blueish. Sweet! Similar to the awesomeness of the Iris/silver.

No the derailleur is not bent , it's the camera angle . I have always liked the look of the "corn cob" and because now that I'm strictly a flat lander , I can get away with it . I bought this Suntour 5 spd. for another build that never happened , well as you can see on it went . It works well in SIS friction and index , all I had to do was re adjust the derailleur . The Bull's Eyes went on too , I don't know what do you think . Too much color ?

It doesn't look bent. However, it does look clean and shiny. Refer to post 9922.

I spent way too much money on DuraAce parts when I rebuilt it about 5 years ago. But, it's still my favorite bike. To this middle age owner, it's a ripper.

If I lived in Virginia Beach, I'd be all over that like white on rice, even though I just bought a 58cm 1985 Ironman last month.

Good thing I'm 3000 miles away.

Looks like a 58 or possibly 60.
The thing about those '85s is you can't go by the head tube, you have to measure the seat tube.
I've made the mistake in the past of not buying the IMs with giveaway price tags...I know better now.

So much has happened/changed in my life. I've been wanting to write about it here but I kept putting it off.
First my now 7 year old daughter is now officially in school (1st grade). 2nd RT isn't on BF anymore and took a lot of my motivation with him. 3rd I finally paid off my house, So no more morgage payments! 4th I'm as happy as I am lucky and my wife and I are doing well.
So now back to some of my Ironman stories.
I've started riding with a friend of mine from yesteryear. A good guy named Mike. Mike has always enjoyed riding. He had been casually riding a new mtb he got online. So a relative of his gave him a junker road bike, however he couldn't get it going well. That's where I come in. His brother (whom I'm even closer to) told him to take it to me to fix. He did and I did. I asked if he wanted to ride with me and we started riding on our version of a MUP, our River Walk. It's Been fun and quite an experience. The guy now has 7 or 8 bikes now! But none of them an Ironman....yet.
One thing Mike notices, is that when we coast down hill, with no pedaling, and starting at the same time, I always, always, go faster. Him on his trek and me and on anyone of my 5 Ironman I beat him. He's now convinced it's gotta be the Ironman and I tell him no different. So I'm now looking for an Ironman to talk him into BUT have yet to find one in his size. Oh It's gonna happen 😀.
Later Ironkids.

I generally go by the pump peg location/spacing on the headtube. Also the headtube decal/sticker. On a 54, the peg is in the middle. The decal takes up the entire space between the TT/DT. As the frame gets larger, the peg moves up the headtube staying close to the TT.
The seller has not responded to my standard inquiry. Maybe I'll send him a text. I noticed the last ad update was 17 days ago. The bike might have sold and the ad not taken down yet.
