What manufacturer/ model / year is it?
I really love chrome bikes.
I was able to pick up an Austro Daimler Puch frame in the smoked chrome around 2 months ago and am really enjoying it after building it up.

I rode 1.4 miles on my 1990s Trek 800 (cleverly disguised with brushed-on house paint) so I could lock it at the light-rail train station while going to my volunteer gig. With the raggedy-ass saddle, missing fr der, dorky tires etc, thieves would not be interested in it.

Nice weather took short local ride on the now 50 year old Jeunet 620 while low end and old still a great riding bike almost no original components or paint but still a great bike.

Took the Raleigh SC for some gravel and hills, the Half Dirty Metric, out of Flemington NJ. Had my hands full, with balky friction shifting. Still, a good day on the bike with a couple good buddies.

Thomas had a cross country meet this afternoon up near Arlington. I packed my bike on the car and headed out that way a few hours early.
There's an old rail trail that connects Arlington and Darrington. It's twenty seven miles long and mostly gravel(with maybe four miles of pavement). I didn't have enough time to make the whole round trip, so I set a turnaround point at White Horse.
Today was a banner day for crunching leaves. I have never ridden through as many as I did this afternoon. Had to stop four times to clear the freewheel and chainrings. The trail is pretty flat, and follows the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River.
I crossed over the Stilli several times today.
White Horse mtn with a dusting of snow.
The Oso landslide happened over seven years ago. Approaching it today was pretty sobering.

It's the Whitehorse trail. I started at the Trafton trailhead park, a couple miles east of Arlington. From what I've read, the trail is washed out to the west of Trafton.

Yesterday was my first time on an airplane since the Arizona Tour de Spring Break of Feb 2020, slipped in just by the slamming Covid door. Ostensibly I’m out here for a conference, but really it’s to ride my bike and visit my son in LA. I put the Breakaway back together, thankfully undamaged after the TSA agent rooted through it and improperly repacked it, and did a 20 mile shakedown ride from my hotel on the north edge of Encinitas down to Carlsbad. Vague plans to ride to La Jolla Cove on Saturday.

Since my sweetie and I couldn't make Top's CCRT ride a few weeks ago we did out own today. I took today off work and we did the Dennis/Wellfleet/Dennis run. It took more than 12 parsecs but we did okay. I have recently replaced a bunch of parts on the tandem, new tires, two new chain rings, new chain, and finally a rebuilt-like-new FW which Pastor Bob sent us a few years ago. It all worked like a charm. Not much bike traffic out on a late-October Thursday. Beautiful weather. Had some nice conversations with folks every time we stopped, including another tandem couple at the start.
We stopped at Nickerson State Park on the way out for lunch.
Signs at Marconi Beach Rd in Wellfleet said the Wellfleet trailhead was closed. What the...? If there is no trailhead does the other end of the trail not exist? What does the trail do? Not end at all, just keep going into infinity? Is it like the Trailhead At the End Of the Universe in HHGTTG? Let's go find out!
Ah, time to turn around. We made it to the end, pics or it didn't happen, so I've heard.
Just for the record, here is the pseudo-new FW.

Today was my big ride in SoCal - Tour of San Diego County beach towns. I rode from my hotel which is technically in Carlsbad, but closer to the north side of Encinitas to La Jolla Cove. The weather app called for cloudy and cool weather, but besides some damp roads and clouds at my late AM start, it was sunny and warm all day, just like it’s supposed to be! 51 miles round trip, with a lot of rest stops at beach overlooks. It’s nice to get some flat riding in with a few stinger climbs, particularly the climb up Torrey Pines park. All in all though not too soul sucking. Torrey Pines State park is one of my favorites and I always make a point of visiting when I’m nearby. I came here for a hike yesterday.

Crisp fall day - 39F at start time, eventually got into the early 50s. Rode out to Long Grove just for a change of pace. 67 miles total.
I'm trying out a new route, which takes me by the North Brook velodrome. Track was open, but no riders. Didn't make it to any races this year....
Took a shortcut through a subdivision where the streets are single lane paths through the woods. Lots of custom MCM homes on densely wooded lots.
Main street in Long Grove. Settled around 1850, today it is mostly antique and craft stores.
The notorious Long Grove covered bridge. Basically a traffic control device to eliminate trucks and speeding. Single lane with 8' 6" clearance. Ate my lunch here.
Bridge has had over 15 truck strikes since it was rebuilt in 2020 (after another truck strike)
Old church and cemetery - finally getting some fall color.
Had to take a pic at "Vintage Lane" LOL!

Took the Stormvogel out for a spin today to see what needed to be improved or adjusted. Pretty much everything. As in nothing wrong, but nothing perfect either.
