Meet Ollie, he's even happier than I am that winter is approaching. (I can't even begin to imagine how floofy he'd be if he were an outdoor cat living somewhere other than a subtropical humidity-fest.)

Maggy and Shelby are now friends. It didn't really take long.
Daphne , who was irritable for the last couple of years was sent to the other side. The Vet suspects she had a stomach disorder that prevented her from processing all of her food. She was skin and bone. Her quality of life was not the greatest but better than what she would have experienced if we had not rescued her from the wild at birth. She did not get along with these two and there was constant tension in the air. She is at peace and they are happier not to mention the rest of the household. She has joined General Lee and Zues on the shelf in memorial.
Maggy has grown since the last pictures presented here and is now 6 months old. she has 3 1/2 years to go before being full grown. Her tail measures 13 inches.

I believe it's a vintage "Crescent" speaker with a honking big Alnico magnet. Picked it up in a film projector cab many years ago. The cone on the orignial Oxford turned to dust back in the late 80s.

Three siblings rescued!

I stumbled upon the three little spotted ones in the middle underneath a vehicle while I was riding around yesterday morning:

The janitor of the building - who was cleaning the car - told me that the mother had been run over by a passing vehicle and killed, and a fourth sibling didn't make it.
He had been fostering them for a couple of weeks, but said he'd rather have someone take them in. I raced home, got a cage and drove back to pick them up. Happily, Tootie didn't reject them and is nursing them as she does her own:

big storm here this morning lots of rain. Reggie stayed out pretty long & got pretty wet. fed him & dried him off w/ a towel. as I was leaving for work he was content & settling in for the day. he only opened his eyes when I approached for a photo. but the chin on one paw & other leg out, looked so comfy I wanted to stay home too

the cats are so much happier when they can go out in the morning. one other went out but not for long. our 3rd was happy to keep his paws dry

What luck that you happened to have a nursing cat when you rode by!

we're getting there. on this Halloween night, for our black cat, I lit a black candle. I heard a bird call out as I lit it. I like to think it was a sign. he loved the night. he loved black blankets

he loved his siblings. we came by them one day I went for fish food & at the pet store was a big cardboard box w/ 3 fluff balls. couldn't pass them up. I was warmed they were found under a barn floor in Concord & were likely feral, requiring lots of socialization. they never were lap cats but did come around to our laps until they have their fill

he loved his chipmunks & 2 summers ago he chased a fisher-cat up a tree. I was right there w/ him so no danger. he love the woods

& he loved his cat nip

good night good boy
