My driver’s license and health card!

My new Specialized under-the-seat carrier’s zipper split open and my two most important pieces of ID fell out. Luckily my brother-in-law was following behind me noticed something fell, circle backed around and picked up my ID! 😅

I hope my experience will be accepted in this thread. It wasn't find while riding.

I found my ankle reflector strap I had lost the day before by reviewing my rear view bike camera. I was finishing a four hour ride and had lost it just outside of my neighbourhood street.

Well, you have found it; it was on the ground, and you were riding when it fell off, so, I'd wager that it does make the cut.

This weekend I found a Walmart bag (tied at the top) with a package of toilet paper, a pack of plastic food storage containers, and a 4-pack of bath soap.
I suspect somebody put the bag on the top of the car after a shopping and drove off, as I found this treasure about 2 miles from a Walmart.
I took it home and will be using all the items soon.

This morning I found a bag of poop along side the MUP. Someone walking their dog had at least picked it up and bagged it, but then left it sitting there.

I think a lot of people are walking an out-and-back, and do intend to pick it up on the return trip, they just don't want to ruin their walk by having to hold a steaming dog turd the whole time. And most of those people actually do come back and pick it up. At least some people pretend to be those kind of people, but never really intend to go back and pick it up. But hey, in the end, a bagged dog turd is preferable to free-range

I remember finding a £20 note in a gutter in a street near my house. And every time I rode past I always looked to see if there was another £20 note there!?! Stupid, but it's like I expected the £20 note fairy to leave something for me there every time

What are some of the things you have found while riding?
Have found a variety of spanners, pliers, side cutters, screwdrivers, bungee cords, box of 12 condoms(they're for sale on ebay), several taillights, an unopened tube of marine grade grease(score!), about 200 cash over the years, Northface -20 sleeping bag/dry bag. Yeah, riding 15mph has its advantages.👍 Forgot to mention several frame pumps as well.

I've found a few phones, a few small pumps, a few bungy cords and enough open and box end wrenches to create at least two complete sets of each. Curiously, 90% of the wrenches are Craftsman wrenches and most were found at the same intersection. Unfortunately, I've also found a lot of discarded tubes which I retrieve and throw away properly.

Full bottle of pancake syrup.
It was there 2 days ago, and it was still there today.

I stopped to pick up one of these giant 2” buckeyes, just for this thread and to see if it was something I could cook or eat for fun. The tree is nearly done, being one of the first to turn months ago.

Then I realized I forgot my lunch… hm…

edit: Aesculus californica - Wikipedia I won't be eating it for lunch today because it needs to be boiled for several days to break down the neurotoxin. That's even harder work than making acorn flour. Bummer!

As all Michiganders know, the dictionary definition of "Ohio Buckeye" is "A useless nut"

Or as they say in Kentucky, you can stick a buckeye up your a** but don't try that with a briar.

To be clear, these CA chestnuts are a different variety and they are huge. Like a racketball. I did not know it was a chestnut variety until I looked it up today...

My last find was a very nice old school drafting lamp. It was dusty, loose and the wiring was in bad shape, but now it's like new and clamped to my workbench.

There was a busted up faucet in the middle of the bike path on my ride home from work tonight. I didn't stop to collect it though.
