That is quite nice for the price! But the color is a bit too ostentatious for a proper English 3 speed. I'll take my Sports in conservative bronze-green, thank you very much.

Love it. Reminds me when I had whitewalls on my '51.

That's the best deal I've seen here in years. Fully modded for basically nothing. Someone doesn't know what they have.

It’s not English but here is a Flying Pigeon that my wife got me for our anniversary a few years back. It assembled easily but was pretty dangerous right out of the box due to ineffective rod brakes and nuts that would rattle off while riding. I switched out the rear freewheel hub to a 3-speed coaster brake for extra gears and stopping power and replaced the factory nuts with nylock nuts. It rides like a dream now. It has big 28” wheels so you sit nice and high while riding.

I've got one, too, mine was picked up for $50.00 at the Westminster, MD swap meet with a flat rear tire. Turns out the rims would chew up the tubes from the inside making it impossible to do more than ten miles at a stretch without a puncture. After repeated efforts to fix the problem, I finally replaced the wheels with a set from a Raleigh Tourist. Problem solved. Swapping it back and forth with my own Raleigh Tourist, I discovered one of the truths of the age: The Flying Pigeon may look like a Tourist, but it is a completely inferior copy of the Tourist. I keep it because it looks so cool, but it gets nowhere near the riding time my IGH Raleigh's get.

I can hear it: "Hey, I think my fork thing is too long, the nut won't tighten." "Yeah? Stick a sock in it."

Would be interesting to know the steerer threading and the length of the steerer and headtube, or stack height.
Isn't there some good luck old wives tale about having a shoe hidden in the walls, maybe it's something like that?

Despite saying I was going to give this bike away, I sold it to a guy down the street. I'm in the process of de-cluttering and I really wanted it gone.
The handyman who returned it to me owes money to my next door neighbour for her garage that he rented. She'll get a cut. There was nothing wrong with the bike. It just needed some "re-freshing". New tires, re pack the bearings etc.
Time and money that I'm not prepared to invest as I could never sell it for what it would be worth.

Ladies' 23" for $100 in SC. Never seen this color combo so I suspect they might have mixed some fenders with a different frame. And the seller must think all Brooks saddles are desirable. Still, if I wanted a second one I'd grab it.
