I have had several friends (including bicyclists) dead or dying from stage 4 prostate cancer at about my age (83yo). So, I was pleased that at my annual physical, my PSA went from 1.4 to .84. Also, good news on the lipid tests (I am on no medications), with LDL at 78, HDL 53, Total CH 145; TRI 68. Everything else normal, but he wants me to drink more water as kidneys creatine were high normal. BP 124/80. I am pleased, Now, I have to figure out some back and nighttime only - sometimes - severe leg pain - restarting some PT. Probably an overuse swimming injury. I take magnesium, etc.

Making it to 83 and dying with or from PCa is longer than MANY. The Forums I'm on have had far too many guys in their 40's/50's with families dying. I'll be 73 in July and 83yo would mean 2 more 5 year segments of staying alive with my PCa. Not expecting to make it and prepared for the worse.
p.s.- and so is wife of 50 years in June. p.p.s.- the end will be of my own accord BEFORE the worse arrives

My prostate cancer was detected early and I was told, "We can watch it, 'should not grow rapidly variety' - or we can treat it."
Well, from my perspective - treat it. Anything less was stooooopid, IMO. PSA below 1, last. 72yo. I chose the single procedure seed implantation.
