My Vittoria valve stems aren’t threaded, so knurled nuts aren’t even an option.

You're not the only one. I have them on all my valve stems.

I guess that makes three of us. Pretty soon we'll become the Knurled Nuts Movement!

Another legacy practice I abandoned years ago. With tubulars it makes a bit of sense as the tire/tube is glued on but with regular tubes why not.

I now run tubeless so it’s a requirement plus I like using valve caps. I even ordered machined aluminum ones from AliExpress.

Absolutely makes a roadside inflation of an empty tube easier. Not a serious issue for a top-up but that's very rarely a roadside event for me. I put them on when I install the new tube because that initial inflation is a lot easier, and at that point, it's more effort to take them off than to leave them on.

I have found the valve caps in my washing machine many times. Sometimes I find a knurled nut or a Chapstick.

That’s really strange. I’m missing a few caps — how did they get in your machine???

Exactly. I'll admit though, I like the way they look.

I don't know if it has come up in this thread or not. But discussions of underwear under bibs or padded shorts chaps asses easier than underwear under bibs or padded shorts.

I much prefer bike shorts over bibs. I hate bibs. They're too hot, chafe my shoulders and make it a pain to take a leak or a dump.

I switched from shorts to bibs sometime in the early '90s. It's bibs all the way for me. Even on my trainer in the garage.

Do you wear a helmet on the trainer?

No, but maybe I should. I have fallen off the damn thing ('cause I'm an idiot).

Why is wearing a helmet related to wearing bibs on my trainer? The padding and comfort of good bibs I've found to be just as important (maybe more so) for trainer session as it is for riding outdoors.

I'm on the other side of the fence from where I threw them in frustration.

I throw valve stem caps all over the show, because when I'm touring they just slow me down. A fully loaded bicycle, including those verdammt valve stem caps, is blasphemous to me. All touring should be done on a lighter bicycle with a lighter load, to allow for faster rides between destinations.
