Checking battery in the winter
I have a battery and mount that I am storing over the winter (not installed on a bike). I have been advised to keep the charge at approximately 70%. Can I just check the voltage reading at this plug instead of hooking it up to the display and motor? Does it matter which lead goes into the red or black? What would be a good voltage reading on a 48v battery to get a 70% charge? Thanks in advance.

FME, a full charge for 13s (48V) is 54.4V and 70% would be about 50V, although from what I've read (Battery University AIR and other places) a wider range (40% - 70%, maybe wider) is acceptable; if the leads are reversed, the reading on the voltmeter will be a negative value. Probably you can locate a voltage vs POC table.
