Hi. I'm MikieG and I have a problem.
I'm nearly 50 and I still love bikes. Especially bmx. Sold my last one when I was 35. So it's been road and mountain ever since.
My whole life I have loved bicycles, and later, motorcycles.
Right now I am working on an 88 Cannondale SR500, and an 07-08 Scott Reflex 45.
i am always looking for bikes from my past. Example, in 89 my 1st road bike was a black Schwinn 564 aluminum racer. I totaled that one in a bad crash. Sadly they are near worthless today so not many survivors, especially in my frame size.
I wish I could say I am a great rider or bike guy. Such is not the truth. I'm lazy. And the only bikes I know are the ones I own or Vintage bmx types.
Problem is.... after all these years, I still love bikes.

Welcome but your bike addiction is likely to get worse, not better, here. But there are worse addictions to have, right?

Welcome MikieG, I'm a newer member also. We have a bike that's pretty close in vintage. I have an 89 Cannondale series 3.0 with the Criterium frame. I believe mine needs a new front derailleur. I've been looking at NOS or new braze on Suntours and Shimano 105's but haven't decided which will work best yet. It has the original 6 speed suntour freewheel and a blaze rear derailleur.

I share the recent bicycle addiction. I am mainly into road bikes both modern and V&C. I have a few mnt. bikes that I rescued from the scrap metal bin at the recycle center. They were in such good shape I couldn't bear to see them trashed.
