Trying clips, what do i need to use these 80s? pedals
To go with a recently rebuilt bike consisting of parts from just about every year of the 80s I'm going to try clipless pedals after a lifetime of distaste(coming from a BMX background) for them.
I have three sets of probably 80s clipless pedals, theres an Exus pair, MKS pair and Wellgo pair. They are all decent quality so i was hoping to use them instead of buying a cheap modern pair to try out. I haven't cleaned them up yet.
All use a different method for the shoes or cleats to attatch to the pedal. I don't know what sort of shoes or cleats I need to look for. Anyone know what matches up to the three pairs of pedals in the photos?
No chance of finding the right bits?

The first is Look style, the second is to avoid patent law suit Look style, the third is SPD. Go to a bike web site and look for cleats in Look and SPD style, about 25$. When buying used pedals try to get the cleats because new ones are expesive and new pedals aren't that much more.

You probably already know this - before selecting a pedal, and dumping $100+ into shoes and cleats, make sure that pedal works. Your LBS should have enough "fitting" shoes and cleats to give them a simple test.

The Exus seem to be re-branded LOOK pedals, very similar to those also sold by shimano. Eithor look or shimano cleats should be interchangable (I always favored the shimano cleats). The MKS probably is a proprietaty orphan design cleat, good luck finding any of those these days though it is possible they may work with look cleats too.
Unless you are riding serious road miles or engauging in competitive sprints, the MTB "SPD" type pedalswork well on road bikes too, much easier to walk in the SPD cleats when off the bike.
