I bought my Arundel Trident cages used on Ebay. I think I paid half of their retail price. I figured they would be used after I had them on the bike for a month anyway. I have been using them for about 3 years and I will never replace them. They are great cages.
There is a lower priced plastic version of the Dave-O.

Pretty light and can be found cheap ish on PBK. Work like a charm for me. Doubt I'll ever use anything else. Ever.

I did exactly this and ended up with a pair of Dave-O's for less than the price of one new one. Also bought one of their chrono cages on ebay and got the bottle for it locally. Such amazing cages, there's something distinctly solid about the cages that most of the other's I've used lack (due to the foam core?).

I came across a pair of brand new Arundel Mandible carbon cages for $78./shipped.
That deal I got by a member here on BF who heard of the deal.
Cruise the online bike sellers.
I got mine from WesternBikeWorks.
Art'sCyclery also has some good deals.
CompetitiveCyclist had 2 Mandible w/bottles for $100. once.
Best advice I could give is to keep an eye open.
These deals pop up quick just to bring traffic to the online shop's site.
Good luck.

I have the Arundel Sport cages. Easy in and out but hold the bottles very securely. Need to use button head or truss head screws to mount them as the recess isn't very deep.

Tough to find the newer ones on sale, for the older models they are on ebay often enough. I think I ended up 10% off and free shipping.

I'm still trying to hunt down a used pair of Arundel Dave-Os or Mandibles at a good price. It's funny. I can spend thousands on a bike, but spending over $80 on bottle cages is so hard to do. Not sure why. Just seems like you shouldn't have to pay more than that for something with such a simple function. At the same time I refuse to get anything but carbon fiber. I want my freakin' cake and I want to eat it too!

Yeah, I saw those. They would look perfect on my bike! I didn't know they made them like that with the unidirectional carbon either, but I like it! I want a unidirectional carbon fiber bottle cage b/c my SRAM S900 cranks, seat post, and Reynolds wheels all have that same uni-carbon look. If I can't get these, I'll probably just fork out the cash for some "oil slick" colored Mandible cages from CC. They are like $61 a piece, but they have a bunch of things on sale that I need anyhow so I might just go ahead and treat myself to a few things while I'm at it.

I'll second the sport cages. On my giant they hold my Camelbak bottles just fine with the standard screws that came with my bike.

Arundels are one of the few things I would buy even at full retail. Wouldn't like it, but I also wouldn't kick myself every time I thought about it.

I agree. I bought two used Arundel Tridents off of Ebay three years ago for $40.00 they have been great but I have been looking at those new Mandibles which I can get in a matte finish that would fit my bike better. My Tridents are glossy and my bike is matte. Some day I may ungrade them.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
I like my Arundel SideLoader & OtherSideLoader set. So far, I even like their Gecko bartape (but that's hard to say, since I ride with full-finger gloves almost all the time). Maybe I'll get the stainless cage for the commuter bike, too.
