Addiction LXVI

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not much packing, really. I'm only taking a small daypack. Basic economy is a better way to go. Why do we think we need to carry all that stuff?! I can buy a pair of pants and a shirt for a couple dollars, and then leave them behind. I am taking a pair of platform pedals though. They aren't so easy or inexpensive.

All I get is the link. This is using the app. The trouble is I take my pics on the phone. The Flickr app is on my phone. When I try the right arrow thing from the app, all I get is the link being copied. No pic displayed.

If I need to send the pic to a desktop before posting, Flickr will be a non starter for me.

With photobucket, I have to share it back to the phone before I can upload it.

Not sure what you mean by "share it back to the phone".

With photobucket, I could take a pic on my phone and upload it with the app and then copy the BBB code and paste it here and my pic would show up.

If for some reason the app did not work, I could go to the web version of photobucket from my phone and upload the image using the web version. So far, I can not get Flickr to go to the web version on my phone (since I installed the app), it just opens the app even if I type 'flickr' into a search engine.

If I happened to have the photo on my desktop, with photobucket I could just open the web version, upload and copy the BBB link for the photo and paste it here. It would show up as a pic.

With Flickr, everything works fine if I'm on a desktop. If I'm on my phone, the pics just come up as a link instead of a photo. I'm assuming the app doesn't generate the BBB code, just an URL.

Again, all this is a dealbreaker for me, since I'm typically starting out on my phone. If I have to email myself the pic, then go to a desktop, download the pic to the desktop, then upload to Flickr, then copy the BBB code- well, I'm just not gonna use Flickr if that's what it takes.

Does anybody use the Flickr app to post pics here?

So I got no ride reports or anything. Kudus to all y'all, though.
feel better my dude.

took the mountain bike out around the neighborhood here - was going to run through a shrub bed with some plants in a general park area and be mischievous - didn't see the foot high steel box that enclosed them, bounced directly off and almost wiped out. I need to wear my knee pads any time at all that I'm on this bike, it's too encouraging to do dumb things with.

This is an old stock photo from several months ago. I have not been on a MUP for quite some time. I try to avoid them whenever possible.

I tried with flkr and gave up, though I was informed that it's easy peasy. With photobucket, I hit the share button and share to phone. When I go to gallery to get it, there is a pb version, which I can upload, and a camera version which I cannot. My guess is that size is the difference.
