You could always buy the saddle and build a bike around it. It's been done.

It's tougher for me, where we have seven bikes... all bright red. All-green accessorizing would look great on some colors -- other colors.

Well if they're not, at least they're cheap.
Sale ends midnight tonight.
I have a similar B-17ish saddle from VO that I haven't used yet. It looks very nice - the leather seems thicker then the B-17's I have and seems very stiff. That might be a good thing. I've read reviews and generally they are positive. Most say they are harder than Brooks and take longer to break in. The Cardiff, VO, and Gyes, and most likely others are very similar. I think they are from China.

I did a quick google search and according to what I could find, older ones were very thick and hard to break in and newer ones were not quite as thick. I did not find a review that confirmed that but I will add one here once they arrive.

What would be the nearest equivalent Brooks? I am a rabid Brooks Pro/Team Pro fan.

Looks like it's based on the B17 Standard -- 275mm long, 175mm wide in the rear, with a flattish top.

One might need to be "butchered" to appeal to a Brooks Pro fan.

Currently available from "Unbroken Chain Cycles" in Madison, Wisconsin. I ordered one & it came promptly. Haven't put it on a bike yet. Agree with those who say it looks like rock-hard, thick leather, that won't break in any time soon. Hoping this will work OK with my well padded butt. They operate under that name on S. Park St. in Madison Wis., and in searching their site, showed me more more eBay offers of brown ones at a slightly higher price.

Please let us know how the whole transaction+shipping goes. They seem to post a lot of crap for sale at an overpriced rate that really should be sold locally on the list of craig for under 30 bux.
Some of it resembles bikes I see for 20 or 30 bux
Sometimes it's just a free sign and a bike leaning against a tree.
They sully my ebay searches with trash.
But, if they are quick and honest that would go a long way in changing my opinion.

Shipping was free and prompt, arrived here (90 miles away only) in a few days via USPS. Was in OEM display wrapping that was a little shopworn. The leather surface has some small flaws but nothing of concern to a user. May have been hanging on a peg or in a box for years. Hope that doesn't affect the leather but who knows. The leather is thick, hard, stiff, as some other owners state. Looking at the backside more critically, the rivets (looked up type: "semitubular") are not very thick where they go through the frame. Only thin depths of metal in the bore of the frame and not a lot of peening to hold it in. I'm heavy and now worry it's possible I'll need to repair this.

If it were brown I would have jumped on this.

I never did report back on my experience with these saddles. As others reported, the leather is quite thick. And quite hard. Before I tried a B17, I always heard that Brooks saddles were hard and hurt until they broke in. That was never true for me with Brooks. It was definitely true with the Cardiff saddle.

One thing that really helped was figuring out the tension setting. I needed to tighten this quite a bit to get the leather off of the frame in the rear. It felt like I was sitting on steel. I guess I was. Once I did that, it began to break in properly. Now it is improving.

Note-the adjustment screw has a SAE hex head.
