Map of Italian brands

Found this interesting map on Ebay Italia of the location of the major cycling players in the north of Italy. I purchased one but it may take some time to get here. This image might be a little low res for some of the marques but is still useful.

Pretty good, I was bummed that the posters may be shipped from Canada?

Note that for Verona, Confente in the original herald is shown. Pretty well referenced the Map is.

That's great. Extra points for having Cinelli in both Firenze and Milano.

Southern Italy really needs to lift its game.

thanks very much for sharing this find

excellent that it includes a number of defunct names - not limited to those currently active

That's a seriously cool map. So many things I'd never heard of. Is there really a "Sheffield" made in Italy?!? And what's that thing with the Look color palette in Bassano del Grappa (above Wilier) and the thing that looks like a fly agaric toadstool cap??

There was a time that Italian manufacturers were leveraging off British cycling - see Tommasini's early incarnation - Thomas.

Pretty sure this was produced by whoever runs this Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/derosaclassic/

If you're into De Rosa's (like I know many of you ARE), it's a fun account to follow.

The map is very cool.

Edit: He also published a book of De Rosa history recently, but I don't have a link handy.

Wow; took me a minute or two of playing Where's Waldo to find Campagnolo.

How big is it?

That was an almost dropout comparison poster redux, they were very late and clanky communication.

What about in the rest of Italy? Or was the bike industry all centered in these northern provinces?

I had an easy time finding where my Pinarello, De Rosa, Tommasini and Colnago bikes were built. It took me a while to find where my Billato bikes (Tommaso, Giordana) were built.

I'm not sure if it's a security feature, but Piemonte is listed twice in the regions. Number 6 should be Veneto.

Yeah I spent a fair bit of time looking at it...

Edit: apparently it's an error, but it won't be fixed and there won't be another print run.

Interesting to find out that all my Italian bikes (ALAN, Bottecchia and Pinarello) were all made in the Northeastern part of Italy....

Wow. And I thought Faggin was an unfortunate name for the American market!

Has anyone received their map? The ebay tracker hasn't budged for me, but I've learnt not to trust that due to past experiences.

annuated aer cranium -

you probably noticed how on the crest with the raptor associated with Vicenza the avian beareth a resemblance to the one on your telaio di mistero

likely a coincidence due to something analogous to "clip art"...
