1946 Higgins Path Bicycle (fixed)
Higgins path bike - a small bicycle manufacturer in London England more famous for racing tricycles.
Will ship via Ship Bikes, info on bicycle here. $750. This bike was found in Dayton Ohio, I am guessing it came here with a serviceman after WWII. More info and photos here:

I hate seeing this ad go to the top of the C&V for sale thread because each time I see it, I think I need to blow a hole in my paypal account and just buy it. It's a beautiful bike. I own two bikes from the 60s (a Schwinn Paramount and an Olmo Gran Sport), one from the 50s (a Claud Butler Jubilee) and I wouldn't mind owning one from the 40s.
I have four questions about the bike:
(1) how did you date the bike? Higgins was still in production during the 50s I think.
(2) Is this a Higgins ultralight or a Higgins pathfinder? I'm sure you're right but I'm curious how you determined that. This is the info I was looking at in thinking about buying this bike:

(3) Were these parts original to the bike or are did you pick some of them up for the build? Is the rear hub a flip flop?
(4) Do you have pics of the bike before you refurbished and painted it? Neat work on the paint job.

Beautiful bike. What's the tt measurement? This is so close to what I've been looking for and I'm really liking this one. Looks like a nice Path bike with room for some wider tires someday down the road. I usually ride a larger frame...this is killing me to see the sizing.

1. The date is based on the steer tube serial number checked against serial number list maintained in England.
2. I could be wrong on the name, it had an ultralite decal on it, but it was applied over silver spray paint.
