Nishiki Competition (1975ish) 57 cm ctc
Picked this beautiful Nishiki Competition up a while back hoping for it to be a keeper. Apparently my eyes are not as good at spotting sizing as they used to be. Or maybe I was just being optimistic. At any rate, 57 cm frame + 27" wheels makes this an extra french fit for me so it must be passed on!
I'm not exactly sure of the year because catalogs are not available from this time period but believe it to be ~1975. The bike is a beautiful teal blue double butted chromoly frame with a lot of nice components. If you like pencil stays, long point lugs, and hints of chrome, this is for you! I would give it an 8/10 for condition. It is absolutely stunning, but there are some more significant chips out of the paint on the top tube, mainly on the nds side.
Sugino mighty competition cranks
suntour bar end shifters
Black anodized suntour v-gt luxe rd
Black anodized suntour SL FDShimano hubs (no oil port) laced to araya 27" rimsBeautifully anodized sunshine stem
taihei comp seatpostDia compe brakes and levers (with Schwinn approved on the turkey levers)
$400 shipped

I'm glad you're not local or I might be sorely tempted to fall off the wagon. My Dad bought me a low end Nishiki complete with turkey levers when I started high school and I rode that bike everywhere. I have a 70s era Sekine SHS 271 that fulfills my desire for a bike with turkey levers from that era but it's not a Nishiki, .
