Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I am just going to list bikes I actually rode. If I listed bikes I have owned this list would be about 30 bikes longer.

Schwinn trike
Huffy BMX
Unknown 5 speed banana seat coaster bike in bling GOLD
Schwinn Continental
Murray MTB
95' Schwinn Moab Elite MTB
04' Specialized Enduro Comp MTB
Van Dessel Buzz Bomb ->fixed gear
86' Schwinn Peloton ->fixed
84' Raleigh Marathon ->temporary fixed gear
Surly Karate Monkey SS 29er MTB
Van Dessel Buzz Bomb Full Suspension 29er MTB
late 60's? Falcon San Remo fixed
73' P13 Schwinn Paramount road bike
76' P14 Schwinn Paramount track bike

Those are all bikes I rode. I have a few bikes that will be rode, but they are not road worthy yet. They include: 74' Raleigh Supercourse TT and a 87' Schwinn Le Tour

-Big wheel
-Supercycle from Canadian Tire
-Supercycle Hooligan, p.o.s. full suspension mountain bike from Canadian Tire, weighed like 60 pounds
-Specialized Hardrock pro, finally my first bike not from Canadian Tire
-Cramerotti road bike, full Ultegra 9spd Groupo, Columbus SL tubing, Ultegra hubs laced to Mavic CXP30's (used for when I wanna go fast for a long time)
-Elvish fixed conversion, found rusting in a friends backyard built up as a beater.
-Fuji Track 06.

That's all I can remember at the moment, there's probably some I'm forgetting from when I was a youngin.

I keep my bikes forever so I haven't had a varied collection...but lately the collecting bug has taken hold.

My first was a Western Auto bike, a coaster brake, fendered, chrome headlamp deal my parents got me for Christmas in 1964 or 1965. Way too big for me, but I learned to ride on that bike, but didn't care too much for it..."banana bikes" were coming into the scene and my bike wasn't "cool".

A Western Auto banana bike, blue with a "cheetah" slick rear tire, red striped tires, black seat with two red racing stripes.

A Shogun road bike...which my cycling friends told me was built by Specialized, but I've never found any info to confirm that. Ex-wife sold it instead of shipping it to me.

Two Specialized mountains, a Rockhopper and a Hardrock comp. The Morgan Hill built RH was sold by the ex also. The HR, Taiwan or China built, bought in 1989 I still have.

Trek 400.
Specialized Allez
Raleigh Roadster 3spd.

well from what i can remember my brother and i used to tinker with some bmx bikes when we were little but i dont ever remember owning any.

bought my first bike when i was 17 or so. it was a Diamondback Viper. i think i sold that.
after that i got another Diamondback bmx but i dont remember the model. that got stolen.
then last year i got an old Shwinn Sprint and converted it to fixed.
then i got a Bianchi road bike and made that my main fixed ride.
the Shwinn i built back up to fixed for a friend in late may this year.
friend passed away mid June. never got to see it or ride it. i still cruise on it.
friends dad gave me one of his GT bmx bikes so i have that to ride on too.
so right now i have 3 bikes and the Bianchi is my main ride. thinking of getting the Shwinn powdercoated.
im itching to get a new frame or just a new whole bike. and im itching to build up more for friends

1) Unknown brand small banana seat bike, with white balloon tyres. Stolen. I still want it back.
2) Some crappy small wheel thing. The freewheel broke, and my dad welded it. First experience of fixed gear!
3) Coventry Eagle 10 speed. Made in England, sent to the USA, ridden by my uncle, sent back to England for me. Orange! Loved it.
4) Puch copy of a Schwinn Stingray, but with 5 speed derailleur. Fantastic!
5) First new bike - Coventry Eagle Kermesse. 531, narrow section alloys, quick release. Stolen. I still want this back too.
6) Clements. Not clear if it was an Ernie Clements, or one of the ones his brother built, but a nice bike. My only bike for years, in fact. Got left in a barn when I went travelling. When I came home, it had gone on a skip.
7) Dual suspension MTB from a chain store. Crap, but I needed a bike. Now has huge wide motorcycle bars on it, but it'll always be too small for me.
8) Gazelle Trim Trophy - back to high quality road bikes. 531, Shimano 105. Bought for £20 from ebay.
9) Nigel Dean road frame, gradually being built up fixed.
10) Falcon Westminster tourer. Got it free. My station/lockup beater.
11) Raleigh Royal - I wanted a tourer, specially for load hauling. Another £20 bike.
12) Mountain bike converted with a banana seat, sissy bar, and huge 24" ape hangers. So cool. Too cool. Stolen.
13) Horace Bates - for restoration......

Plastic big wheel
Awesome red tricycle
Brick-heavy old blue BMX with plastic mag wheels, indestructable
Bridgestone CB-O proto-hybrid thing, stolen from school while in class
Haro MTB with funky Girvin suspension stem, stolen from school while in class. Skilled theives around there!
Haro BMX, chrome, too cool for school, stripped to nothing but frame + cranks at school while in class
Gary Fisher MTB, cheap, awesome, destroyed at BM last year
Bianchi Pista, didn't fit me quite right, sold to a friend who loves it
Peugeot beater conversion, loved it, rode the piss out of it. Now converted to SS for a friend
Yamaguchi TT conversion, the light of my life
Ciocc road

My friends and I made totally preposterous board + 2x4 ramps, eventually stacking them up so high they'd fall apart when jumped.. Too fun.
