sorry for the crappy pics,
my bike cave is literally a cave, it's dark and hard to get the lighting right. Anyways, I snapped a few shots today as I'm in the middle of a big clean up and organize project to get everything sorted out and easier to work with.
My cave consists of the following bikes:
1984 Team Raleigh (converted to fixed)
1997 GT GTB
1984 Peugeot PGN10 (converted to fixed)
1980 Lotus Classique
1981 Trek 614
1980 Trek 613
1979 Holdsworth Professional
198? Velo-Sport (converted to Porteur)
1983? Gitane Olympic Recor II
1972 Raleigh Sports ladies
1972 Raleigh Sports mens
1942 Swiss Military bicycle

The two grey 1972 Raleigh Sports (mens & ladies) are going to my parents. I have enough spare parts to complete them so it's just a matter of setting up a workspace.
The other two Raleigh Sports are for me & my girlfriend
I hope to have everything sorted out this week as there is a big swap meet next Sunday and I'd like to unload what I know I don't want. I have a feeling that I will probably end up going home with more than I bring lol but hopefully it's stuff I am currently looking for. What doesn't sell or trade out of that stuff will go to the local co-op.

Cobrabyte, you still got that yellow Turbo? PM if you do and are willing to part with it, I have a very interested buyer.
I took these a few weeks ago but forgot to post. This was my temporary bike cave over the summer. It's a small closet in the basement that was large enough to hold most of my tools, spare parts, etc. Bikes had to be stored else where.

This reminds me that I really need to tidy up the cave this week... it was a fairly busy summer and I need to load up a bunch of stuff to donate to a few bike charities.
And there are more bikes in the cave now which puts space at a premium.

I make my living repairing bicycles, building wheels, and need to find more space to set up a frame building shop and expand my repair shop.
I had a commercial space for a time but outgrew that and had this big empty garage that has been serving me quite well as a work and storage space.

I wrenched bikes in high school, kept most of the tools and bought more along the way. Bike wrenching doesn't pay enough to keep me in the manner to which I have become accustomed. I firmly believe in doing the job right, regardless of what the job is. And in this case it is maintaining my favorite bikes.

Pro. I am a bike mechanic at a local bike shop. But, the basement shop started a number of years before getting a job in a shop. I started out slow buying tools when I need them, and then got a big boost with buying a lot of tools when another bike shop went under. The last few years though the new tools and parts came with my employee discount, and often paid by the bike flipping I do on the side.

10' x 2" x 4" 22" spacing between hooks. 14" from bottom of lower row to bottom of upper row. The site specifies the lowest hooks should be 65" from the floor. If you're hanging 3-speeds, I suggest going an inch or two higher.

I try to keep my areas pretty civilized. My designated theatre room has space fopr 4 bikes to line the walls -- only one is up in this pic but i can see the bike hanger in the distance for another one. This is a loft above my garage and office, where the "Bike Cave" continues -- office and garage -- I keep the tools licked away in a couple of rollaways not visible in the pics, and spares and cast off parts are tucked away in Rubbermaid type storage bins and are mostly stored under a stairwell
(dont want to show pics of that rats nest ) -- but since these pics are pretty old , i may update my post here this afternoon when i get home - i want to hook up a soundbar to the TV up there anyway

Up[dates pics --- i spent a few hours cleaning up my Bike Cave last night and trying to decide which bikes get their place on the wall . Fell asleep on the couch up there when the tasks were done watching a C&V movie as well -- id like to say it was Breaking Away, but it was Raiders of the Lost Ark
Anyway ---
