Hello - I've got a BB w/out cable guides and an un-threaded hole on the bottom. Can someone point me in the direction of the (assuming) plastic guide I'll need for this?

Looks similar to the type used in mid/late 1980s Nishiki frames. But posting more info about the frame (make/brand, approximate year) would help nail that down.

FWIW: this thread might have been best started in the "Classic & Vintage" forum.

Make a guess at one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233613409802 - fasten with a plastic push pin, maybe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293335349638 ? Or use a fat rivet as long as it clears your bottom bracket (you can pull/knock the steel bit out of the middle of an aluminium blind rivet once it's set, and peen or file the remaining aluminium bit). Or thread the hole to use a short screw, or in a pinch use some of that double sided foam tape or Gorilla glue. I've also just used a bit of PTFE tube (like the stuff that lines cable casing) and let it find its own position, but that won't always work - it can escape when there's slack in the cable.

That is in France, not sure your location. Noted on site "Doesn't ship to US" but hopefully you can find one that would.

If you give some dimensions I might have one that would fit that we have salvaged.

There were a couple of different size pegs/holes commonly used - we were using bottom bracket shells with the smaller size, and our supply of guides was the larger size, so I made a tool like a small hole saw to trim them down, but for a one-off you can just file it carefully until it fits (or drill out the BB shell). The fit doesn't have to be particularly secure as most of the time the cable tension holds it on anyway.

Looks like a Roto bottom bracket shell. These date back to the time before under-the-shell cable routing became popular. There are braze-on cable guides to route the cables above the shell, but these should be done before you paint the frame. There are also clamp-on cable guides that can routed cables above the shell. Or, you can drill a hole in he shell to attach a plastic under-the-shell guide. Is there a cable stop on the drive side chain stay for the rear derailleur cable? If it's on the top of the chain stay, you'll want to route the cables over the shell with a clamp-on guide. If it's under the chain stay, you can use a plastic guide attached under the shell.

Unfortunately I have discovered that this will not work when running a 1X setup, only if there is a front & rear derailleur.

Make sure your rear cable stop on the chain stay is on the bottom or the side. If it's on top the chain stay then you'll have to use the clamp-on or braze-on guides that go over the BB.

Maybe by '85 they were more consistent about putting them on the bottom and routing the cables under the BB.

I have - it's on the bottom/side of the chainstay. I wish it were on top as I have a clamp on guide available.

That's why the 2 sided tape or some sort of silicone adhesive.

I tried to double sided tape one of these plastic guides onto a Raleigh for a three speed setup,using only 1 cable, I used the strongest double sided tape I could think of. (carpet tape) It worked for a week or so but the sideways force, although slight, was enough to cause it to slip. This affected the shifting. I wound up taking the bottom bracket out and drilling and tapping the BB shell for a short 5mm bolt. Hope this helps.

Yep that's what I found too Macguyver. What I did (going off dedhed's protocol) was to clean the area of the bottom bracket that I'd be attaching a Shimano under BB plastic cable guide to with Brakeclean to make sure it was 100$% grease free then used a Loctite multi-surface (metal/plastic) adhesive. Cured overnight and it's perfect. Thanks for all the help.

There were some that would qualify: a 1960s 5-speed or a 5-Speed Schwinn StingRay come to mind.

But I don't think a mid-1980s Nishiki Team Issue was one of them - at least not when originally sold.

Strange that the OP has not responded to this.

As we run a volunteer shop, we have scaped quite a few bikes over the years and we have a number of different versions of this type part but without dimensions of what; is needed we could offer to assist.

Thanks for the link however as I mentioned above I already used a mild adhesive to attach one that did not have a fitting for the hole in the BB. Thanks, though.
