bikamper wins my vote for the best transport for the Ural 2-wheel drive sidecar equipped with bike rack with which he brought two bikes with great visual stories...

One attendee (I'll let him "out" himself if he wishes to do so) brought a sample of some of the large amount of Schwinn paperwork he has -- he brought along three notebooks of copies of interoffice memos -- I loved the ones dealing with tariffs -- fun to look at, great to hear the story of the acquisition.

I was supposed to be out of town on Saturday and Sunday, but ended up needing exhaust work Saturday, which meant I left town on Sunday, after the swap. I was about to walk out empty handed, when I found this, though it is probably going to be deemed too small for any riding of length. Too bad, but it might still make a fine wall hanger for my office..
I'm thinking I met the OP though, at a table where he was selling French derailleur parts that probably would be fitting for this rebuild. Looking back, I was a little bit regretful for not asking if there is a price for the box.

I didn't take too many pics and I just got back from a snowmobiling trip in northern Wisconsin but here are some.
I'll just say that riding that Ural back to Elburn into the setting sun was a bit blinding.

Never heard of British Eagle before, but it's interesting! Wouldn't mind hearing more about it. .. plus... I always liked that first gen Dura-Ace in the black finish!
..and I'm going to guess that this multi-spectral fade bike is Julian's??
Besides the obvious clues (if you know Julian), I think I've seen pics of it before.
As a Raleigh nerd, I'm happy to see the 753 Raleigh USA in this shot! I've got one or two Raleigh jerseys that go with the slanted black/yellow/red color scheme.
Also.. what's the story on the orange/yellow bike with Nervex Pro lugs and curved seat tube? I'd guess Jack Taylor, but the lugs don't support that. Maybe a repainted Paramount?? They did have a curved seat tube option for a while, didn't they? Very cool bike!

steelbikeguy I wish I knew more about the British Eagle. Most of the info I have been able to find is about the Touristique and the Classique. This one seems to pre date those by 10+ years. Here's a link to my original thread and the as found condition along with some observations by juvela.

I believe that is a Paramount “Sprint” aka a “short coupled” frame. I had one years ago, posted photos and asked questions about it on the forum - https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...nt-sprint.html

The curved seat tube was sort of a fad in the mid 70's...lnspired by the curved seat tubed english, Jack Taylor, TT bikes?? Schwinn even had a Continental with a curved seat tube. Think they badged it a "Sprint".

Yes, it is. I brought two Eisentrauts -- the multicolor fillet brazed 1977 custom (repainted in 1990s acc. to original owner) and a 1975 Limited (the dark tall bike next in line). Both have Bikeforums connections. I will make a post of the two of them at some point -- as you know we've had a warm winter in central IL, but not much sun -- and what little we have had has inspired some riding, not outside bike fiddling, so... the photos and post will wait.
