So Oakley has the cross link sweep which looks good in all black. It also appears Rudy Project has some glasses but they appear to be either to sporty or to daily. I am sure some of you guys have gone the expensive route and just gotten a do it all pair of glasses. Any recommendations out there. I am getting tired of my contacts but need the "cycling" glasses to look somewhat proffesional.

Is there a pair that has it all or is it a lost cause?

Wiley X works great if you need ANSI/Milspec safety glasses that look great and cost 1/2 the price of rx Oakley glasses

Thanks Elvo, but I am looking for something that I would wear full time on a proffesional basis as well. It doesn't appear that they have anything like that.

I have one pair of glasses for every purpose now that I don't need true safety specs anymore. Photo reactive, progressive bifocals. Cycling, not cycling, reading, driving, at the beach, whatever. I don't "need" or want the sport glasses look. "Needing" them to look like professional cyclist sun glasses is the entire problem. Maybe you should examine that "requirement". Without that you have absolutely no problem. As long as you stay away from the mirror, what difference will it make?

If you insist however, how about a 2 for 1 deal at a mass market optician like Vision Works. Get your regular glasses and the special insert lenses for the cycling eyeglass frames as part of the deal. It won't be the base price, but I don't think the upcharge would be too bad.

I have specific prescription sunglasses for bike / sport use. I have worn Liberty, PanOptx and Wiley-X. I have found that the sport glasses are too sporty for business and casual dress. YMMV.

Hmm, I think you guys are right and I figured it would be a bit much to ask. It is not that I have to have the "sports" look but I do need something with a lot of coverage for wind and looking upright when in the aero position.

I like the idea of going 2 for 1 and maybe get two sets. Looks like i may have to dig a bit into insurance and deals and see what that would cost. It looks like the best choice for me would be to stick with contacts.

I went to my optometrist to find a pair. He didn't have anything on the shelf but had many catalogs with frames of all styles. I looked through the catalogs and picked out a number of frames which he got in for me to try on. As mentioned above, for riding, they need to be big enough to block the wind and sit high enough so I'm not looking over the tops of them when I'm in the drops. Being curved around the face helps too. The prescription may limit the amount of curvature you can get.

I use Rudy Project Horus. Semi wrap, interchangeable lenses and they accept lenses up to something -7.

What does "too sporty" mean? Do you wear sunglasses into the office? I use Rudy Noyz in matte black as everyday and cycling.

Much of this boils down to personal taste, but I like Rigards' sunglasses. Mine have blue-tinted prescription lenses. You can get the tints in different colors. I wear them on my rides and in regular day-to-day use.

Yes, I would wear these sunglasses into the office, hince the need for a clear lens that is swappable or a transition that does a bit more transmission than 18%grey.

I have a pair of RUdy Project Horus with swappable lenses but they definitely look like sporty/cycling glasses. When I wear them to the gorcery store, etc. I always feel a little weird.

So this summer I got a pair of Spy Kash sunglasses with Rx lenses, they look casual enough but have great coverage. I have done a few 30+ mile rides and they work just as good as the RPs.
I would think a pair with Transition lenses are what your're looking for, if you like the syle.
