Dating a Brooks saddle

Just wondering what kind of foods or restaurants they would be into, if they're into the movies or long walks on the beach.

Just kidding....

I got this saddle, here's some pics. How do i figure out what year it is roughly.

You beat me to it with the "long walks on the beach" comment! I can't help you with the age of the saddle, I don't think Brooks has made a lot of changes over the years. It looks the same as the one on my 1971 bike. Maybe someone else knows.

It can be difficult. I also wonder when they stopped with the datestamp.

Here is an attempt: https://www.kurtkaminer.com/brooksbadges.html

I wonder when they STARTED with the date stampings. FWIW, my Pro which came on my '73-74 Motobecane is marked just like yours. No date stamp.

Date stamps on the cantle plate began in the late 50's; I've seen a couple of 59's. Judging by what I've seen the proportion of saddles with date stamps was never very high, like always less than half; so absence of a date stamp tells you nothing at all. The badges on the back vary by model and date, so that may tell you something. Cantle plates up to some point in the 60's also have a patent number. All things considered I think the badge on the back of yours will be the most useful chronological indicator, but I don't know enough about it to put a date on it.
