Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Where are the -17 degree stems in 3K carbon finish

From my research I've found:
Zipp and Ritchey in aluminum with -17D but none in 3K carbon
FSA in 3K but -6D

There have to be some out there but I can't find one. Anyone know of any?

Thomson might still offer the X2 stem in -17degrees.

FTR, carbon stems are for fools.

Why would you want a carbon stem?

Not like you would be saving a whole lot of weight.

Thank you for the first half of your reply, I will check out that stem.

I'm definitely not interested in the fakes, I've seen those too.

Um because it looks good and matches my bike. The better ones from FSA and Ritchey are actually carbon wrapped aluminum so I'm not looking to save weight necessarily but to make the cockpit look good. So, do you have any suggestions for my criteria?

It's not what the OP wants, but it might interest others. You can achieve a CF effect with paint by starting with a black surface, and then using a rubber drawer liner as a mask for a single coat of silver. I learned this doing airbrush stuff, years ago.

There are tutorials on Youtube of how to do water transfer patterns in cf.

Nice! I hadn't seen that one yet, 10 degree would be fine I think. Did they make bars too?

Has the 3K finish gone out of style? It kinda seems that way.

Not sure if the clamp size is right for you, but AX Lightness makes a -17º stem.

HA! I'm not gonna lie I thought that was a joke at first. Nothing like putting a dog taking a dump stem on your ride.

Anyway I think I'm going to go with the Ritchey WCS alloy bars/stem combo in wet black to save a lot of money and the stem is -17D so it works out. Thanks guys.

MCFK makes those stems. Looks incredible at a price of €300. Ax-Lighness cost even more!!

Yeah there's no way I'm spending that on a single component.

Have you seen the prices on Ax-lightness? Perhaps not and that might be for the better
All these German brands (handmade stuff) cost an arm and a leg. My guess is that is why Enve (except the wheels) and 3T are made in Asia.
MCFK weight is about 75 grams for a 100mm stem.

Why not? It's what I've always used.
