Another shortened, 25 miles yesterday. Temps in the 40's with 10-12 mph winds. Sun was suppose to make an appearance in the afternoon, so the wife and I waited until after lunch to go. Got to the park, it was 59º, damp and windy. Did my first lap and checked the weather before heading out for lap two. The sun never did come out, the weather app showed a drop in temperature and an increase in wind speed. The wife said, "Let's go home", so we did.

30 miles on a beautiful cool sunny Sunday morning with a friend met at a group ride last summer. Headwinds the first half, tailwinds took us home. We'll pretend the unusually fast (for me) return trip wasn't wind assisted.

Hey, John_V, I'll trade you temps. 19° to start my ride Sunday morning, but you can keep the wind

18.6 tiring miles (29.9k), cold but sunny. It hasn't heated up enough to melt the snow/ice on the sides of the roads. There are still a couple of patches I have to walk the bike over, but the main path is cleared.

18.6 miles. It was 47° F out and was a breezy day. I need to get on here more to get my motivation up. I finally have cold weather gear, I just need to get out and ride.

The Whole Enchilada

Rode around Hastings, MN again today with my friend Ian. About 20 miles out to Schaar's Bluff and back, by the map. It was a beautiful sunny day, and we had both been cooped-up all week.

There are some nice hills on this ride, just enough to make it interesting, but the real challenge was a vicious 20mph headwind on the way out. Didn't have to worry about overheating at all.

After sailing all the way back with that strong tailwind, we stopped at the local Mexican joint for a well-earned lunch. Feast your eyes on this:

It was an excellent day all around.

I like sunny & warm in Jan. Even if it's not home.
Funny (to me) sights from today.

Slow down. (i gotta have this one reproduced)
Last chance for beer - the question is: Am i about to die or just passing your store?
Would I buy a car here? Maybe, if they had any.

Another breezy afternoon in the Pine Belt.
Sambo and I rode 31 miles this afternoon, and, as usual,
it took about 12 miles for me to warm up to where I felt like doing a little work.
That lasted about 1 1/2 miles.................

If I can get out for about 20 or so tomorrow, I'll finish January with over 100.
But, I may sit it out tomorrow, as Medicare starts for me on Wednesday.
65 is looming 14 days away from today. Where has the time gone?

17 miles (27.4k) on today's Buh-I-cycle ride on the ever faithful aluminum Allez. Mornings are still really cold, snow is still on the sides of the roads. Well, what do I expect for the northern latitudes? Weather is a lot better than somewhere like Chicago.

Well, temps were back in the 70s today. Should be in the 70s and 80s for the next two weeks or longer.

Had a good 40 mile ride with my daily riding buddy and one of his friends who hasn't ridden in a year or so. He did really well for being off the bike for a year.

20 miles on an unseasonably warm end of January evening. It was supposed to be just a 2 mile round trip for groceries, but there's this other store 10 miles away, so...

Low 40's and dry so seized the opportunity to get out for a seven mile ride after work this evening. May be snow tomorrow.

Got out yesterday with the 30mph wind gust and 64°F out. Not to bad but still ran into closed roads around here from hurricane Matthew. 21.4 miles in with average speed of 16mph. Had more headwind than tail wind on this ride. But it was nice cruising at 26mph for a mile or so with the tail wind.

Parts of the bike path are closed by the City cutting up dead and dying old tree growth so the ride was cut a little short. Only 16.3 miles (26.2k) today. Warmer out, most of the snow has melted.

I was on my own today, so I just did a relatively short 20 miler.
Still a bit breezy, but it is only going to get worse as we head into spring.

A good day for a 57 mile ride. Rode with my buddy Frankie, who must have had a bad night because he had a hard time keeping up today. Not normal for him. A little slower than normal but I didn't have anything to do the rest of the day, anyway.

It rained last night and I caught a few sprinkles on this morning's ride. But I picked up a lot of residue from the streets and had a mucky mess on the bike (and shoes and pants and jacket...). 18.6 miles (29.9k) on a much warmer day.

Well, I did my usual 32 mile ride with an 8 hour break in the middle. About 24degF when I started this morning, 35degF when I arrived home this evening. Had to skip a few days due to a mini-snow-storm.

Nice 24 miler in absolutely stunning, gorgeous late afternoon FL weather after work ( I almost feel guilty posting this to all those up north). Headed southwest on 24 past the town of Archer towards Bronson, then returned north on Parker Road and treated to a spectacular orange sunset.

Feeling almost fully healed after the great fall in November; my pelvis is not hurting at all. Just need some serious saddle time to get back to where I left off.....

This weekend I'll do the Archer-Newberry loop; looks a bit over 40 miles.

I was able to squeak out 16.7 miles yesterday, forgot to post it. I ran out of daylight. Our daughters CAP worker was running late so I wasn't able to get out when I wanted to. Found another road closed still from hurricane Matthew. NC DOT really needs to get these roads fixed. It was a nice 60°F ride and the last for a few days. Going to only be in the low 40's until next week.

Met the guys at the park for a ride this morning. My RFLKT battery was almost dead and it wouldn't pair with my phone. It was taking me a while to get it corrected so I told them to go on without me. Ended up doing a nice, 45 mile, "No Shift", solo ride.
