Vintage MTB Bar Ends Users? Let's see them!
You don't see them too much anymore, but they used to be very popular. Anyone else still using this Rad technology? These Onzas have been clamped to my Kestrel bars for decades!

On my MTB I like to mount bar-ends inboard of the shifters and brake levers. I use those bar-ends when I'm bucking a headwind or just want a bit more aero riding position.

I hated the single hand position on my mountain bike, and I spend more time on the extensions than on the main grips. I would not be without them! As a side bonus, thanks to my 4-finger motorcycle-style brake levers, I can do all routine braking from the extensions.

Anybody remember the original bar ends? Control Tech were of the plug type and came in three different plug diameters for different bars. The clamp-ons were universal and a better idea.

I have them on all my flat(ish) bar bikes and have had them since the mid90s. Generic blue ones on my Flashback.
LC Composites. Made in Oregon. These are no longer made and are probably from pre2000.
Generic silver ones on my Tucson bike. Probably Profile Design.
Dean badged barends on my Dean bike. Probably not US made but they fit the bike.
The whole Dean in it’s glory.
