Just barely got in a ride tonight before it started to rain. Looks like it's going to be wet now until Friday, but we need the rain. I'm not looking forward to 90+ degree weather, but I'll be glad when this spring is over. Thick layers of pollen everywhere, and trees on my route that are shedding petals that are almost impossible to avoid inhaling or swallowing.

Heard a band playing on the street behind me last night, so I hopped on the bike in my PJs to go check it out.
They were doing a very lame cover of "Gimme Some Lovin'"...

Still haven't started my June rides yet. 9 days into the month and it's been both rainy and windy every day and doesn't look like easing up until mid next week!
I know it's winter and poor weather is part of winter, this time last year we were fighting floods, but I don't remember a winter for years where it's been wet and windy for the first half of the month

Not so wet today after all. Lots of rain overnight, but by noon the sun was out. Different story tomorrow. Thunderstorms and bands of torrential rain.

I had my first longer, outdoor ride since my fall and skid on the 31st, but I went for 36KM, with a short 11KM tryout ride yesterday. It felt pretty good. There was even one point where I checked my watch and saw a higher average speed than I've had in quite some time. But then I turned around and realize I'd had a strong tailwind (which was now a headwind).

Currently 6am and it's blowing at about 60kph outside, the weather is predicting that this time tomorrow it will be as low as 9kph, I might get my first ride for the month in this time tomorrow.

I’m not sure how many miles I’ll be able to do, but I’m motivated to give it all I’ve got. I tested positive for COVID on Memorial Day, and the mandated isolation precluded me from doing any riding for a week, or even much exercise, for that matter. My symptoms were mild, and I didn’t have any respiratory issues, or so I thought. Then after I recovered, I went for a bike ride. The first mile was tough, barely got above 10 mph. Then it felt better and I managed 4.6 miles, and my pace picked up a bit. Feeling good about it, I tagged along with my daughter and son-in-law yesterday on my MTB for their first ride on the Mulholland fire roads on their new gravel bikes. They left me behind in the dust (except on descents), and my lungs were screaming at me. Managed 6 miles and concluded this is going to take some time. But it’s got to be done.
6/7 - 4.6 mi.

MTD: 10.8 mi.

Nice, passed 1,000 miles for the year.
This Trek I'm riding is the first bike I've owned with hydraulic disk brakes instead of rim brakes. Can't say the rim brakes ever failed to stop me, but these hydraulic disks are amazing. Twice tonight I had to brake hard from a high speed to avoid a rabbit, and those brakes gripped so hard I locked up the wheels and skidded. Pretty confidence-inspiring.

Weather is going to be around 95 with high humidity and wind speeds between 15 and 25 mph this week so not sure how much I will get to ride this week

Oh yeah, what a month. Finally get the house covid free, finally get over all the crappy weather, finally see the opportunity to get back on the bike and then one of the kids brings a gastro bug home from school and takes us out of commission for 5 days. Currently running a risk assessment on the chances of finally getting on the bike tomorrow morning. It's looking somewhat positive, but I'm still not 100% sure. I may ride alone at 4:30am but I'm not sure I fancy gastro throwing it's final punch at me while I'm mid ride.
