Thanks for an idea. Will look when back from my holidays. Just boarding a plane. What a strange feeling travelling abroad 😁

Finally managed to strip the bike and low and behold, it seems to be the very same frame mentioned on the https://www.classiclightweights.co.u...t-hanlon-1968/ as once owned by Simon Carter, serial 442. The story above about lavender paint, well it is kind of lavender, this one.
Now what to do with it? The wheels on pic above are 126mm, while spacing on the frame is 120, so this means I need some 120 hubs/wheels to start with. Did someone say single speed ? Is something like that allowed for such nice frame?

What does the hub look like? Some hubs allow you to take out spacers to narrow the OLD width. You'd have to change to a 5sp freewheel or Suntour Ultra 6 freewheel.

If that is the 1964 frame mentioned in Classic Lightweights then it would seem to be a shame to make a fixie from it, but all down to personal preference and I am not adverse to changes, such as putting early Dura Ace fixed hubs on a 50/60s road path frame - see my other post re frame identification.
